** Let's be fair though; before any of this decay happened, he actually got a lot of CharacterDevelopment, and even arguably TookALevelInBadass. ''SonicAdventure'' begins his story depicting him as Sonic's shy tagalong sidekick, and ends with him [[spoiler: fighting Dr. Eggman's walker to prevent it from destroying the city.]] Then, ''SonicAdventure2'' established him as Eggman's equal in intellect, gave him his own mech, and [[spoiler: ended his story with another fight against Eggman]]. So why has he been DemotedToExtra and made a mechanical DeusExMachina as opposed to Sonic's sidekick? Probably because Tails' original trait was moving vertically, and ever since a [[FanDumb badly-misguided fanbase]] convinced SEGA that Sonic should be all about speed, the games have had less and less platforming elements. For further prove, notice Knuckles' decreased role as well, and the increase of playable roles for [[SpotlightStealingSquad Shadow and Blaze]].

* Miles 'Tails' Prower of the ''{{Sonic the Hedgehog}}'' series originally started as Sonic's loyal KidSidekick with some basic mechanical skills. Several years of excessive {{Flanderization}} have slowly dissolved most of Tails' childish persona and bond with Sonic and left him as a walking tool kit for the heroes. It is rare that the character appears other than to create another DeusExMachina scale gizmo or to vehicle Sonic to an area he couldn't otherwise travel to.

** At least this offense is arguably more forgiveable than Fixer Sues normally are, because despite their mishandling of the issue, the [[WellIntentionedExtremist authors]] are still [[StrawmanHasAPoint technically right]]: Protoman was never concieved as a villain, and Bass actually belongs in the niche he occupies in the show. So it's not surprising that at least a few Fix Fics actually turned out well. [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2287169/1/End_Program End Program]] and its sequel, [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2825362/1/Illegal_Operation Illegal Operation]] take the same old premise and actually get a better result: While Bass ''does'' get built and ''does'' convince Protoman to leave Wily, he neither dissapears from the plot nor causes Protoman to have an unrealistically-sudden HeelFaceTurn. Instead, both become a MagificentBastard in their own right, cause double the trouble, and have as much rivalry between themselves as with Mega Man. Unfortunately, this saga is still not concluded, but it is off to a good start.

Louis ended up with a Mayfair Witch instead of Lestat (& Anne Rice lost a truckload of fans).

* The ''{{Evangelion}}'' fanfic [[http://www.evafics.org/site/story.php?story=64 Higher Learning]] stars Kaoru Miyazaki, a KidFromTheFuture FixerSue masquerading as a teacher for the main characters. Watch as he thwarts the nefarious plans of the TheOmniscientCouncilOfVagueness and the MagnificentBastard, heals the ''severe'' psychological problems of the teen heroes and seduce their BunnyEarsLawyer caretaker, and marvels at the enormous popularity this fic had with the MarySue-hating crowd back when the Evangelion fandom was alive!

* There are a high number of ''SailorMoon'' fanfics that try to "correct" the [[OfficialCouple canon]] [[SchoolgirlLesbians lesbianism]] of [[{{Bifauxnen}} Haruka]] and [[TheOjou Michiru]]. Most of them just [[CharacterDerailment turn Haruka]] [[PsychoLesbian into an evil butch pervert]] [[DieForOurShip who abuses Michiru]] and create a dashing [[RelationshipSue Gary Stu]] to [[UnfortunateImplications rescue Michiru from the deadly sin of homosexuality]]. The most infamous example, however, was cooked up by the infamous Save Our Sailors website, which actually [[PossessionSue used]] ''Haruka'' as the FixerSue and tried to pass it off as canon. Their story claimed that there was a Prince of Uranus in the past that was Sailor Uranus' brother and Michiru's past lover, whom Sailor Uranus passed her powers onto when she died and caused him to be reincarnated as a woman that still loved Michiru. Therefore it wasn't ''really'' homosexuality because Haruka was ''[[IfItsYouItsOkay really]]'' [[IfItsYouItsOkay a boy]]. Cue InternetBackdraft and loss of what little credibility they ever had!

* ''Merrick'' from ''The Vampire Chronicals''. After Anne Rice decided to become a "good Christian" after a death in the family, she started cutting out all the homosexuality & started pairing vampires like Louis & Marius with women. Louis ended up with a Mayfair Witch instead of Lestat (& Anne Rice lost a truckload of fans).

** In ''Hammers of Fate'', Zehir didn't play a major role due to personal matters [[spoiler: such as finishing off a major villain from the original game]]]. Everything almost literally went to hell without him. It's as if the good guys in the setting can't do jack without him. Or maybe he's the demons' KryptoniteFactor.

* Any time Bass is featured in a [[Series/MegaMan Ruby-Spears Megaman]] fic, there's a good chance he'll be one of these; his primary purpose is to make [[TheDragon Protoman]] leave Wily (for whatever reason the author sees fit) and force the cartoon to be a different-looking [[MegaMan Capcom-Megaman]]. Then, of course, he drops off the face of the Earth. [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot Arg.]]

*** So does ''Fanfic/TheGirlWhoLived'' series, which takes every good thing Ron has done and gives it to Rose, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, or any other character, has Rose hide virtually everything from Ron while feeling free to tell everyone else (including ''Hagrid''), and still leaves in the canon parts where Ron screws up (leaving Rose to berate him or roll her eyes and sigh condescendingly) or praises or comes back to Rose. It's also been noted in daz_Mervin's sporking that when the author began ''Rose Potter and the Half Blood Prince'', Ginny instantly was demoted from Rose Potter's Little Sister and Druidess Protegee (and love interest if you want to be more realistic) to a very minor character who mainly is snapped at by Rose for making fun of Fleur and replaced by Luna. This, of course, happened conveniently when the Harmonian author learned that Ginny took part in the [[SarcasmMode ''terrible'' plot to seperate Harry and Hermione]].

**** It's not just Harmonians. There are plenty of other people who can't stand Ginny.

* In many fanfics, [[RanmaOneHalf Ranma Saotome]] is made into a FixerSue of sorts. This would make since since probabilities would become warped and wild things would occur whenever he'a around.

* ''Merrick'' from ''The Vampire Chronicals''. * The number of Harmonian-written ''HarryPotter'' fanfic that feature an adult Harry going back in time to "fix things" (mainly things like hooking Harry up with Hermione (who's derailed into an all-holy and gorgeous PuritySue who can do NO wrong even if she acts like a bitch) and making sure that Ginny Weasley (a character more hated than Voldemort among Harmonian circles) is revealed to be the [[{{yandere}} conniving untrustworthy back-stabbing psycho-bitch]] [[DieForOurShip that the Harmonian community wishes J. K. Rowling had written her as]].

* There are RockyHorrorPictureShow fanfics out there that feature a fan-character (Often a female) bringing Dr. Frank N Furter back from the dead and/or simply going back in time to prevent him from being killed in the first place.
* a good number of Rose shippers in the DoctorWho fandom use Bad Wolf (the omnipotent goddess Rose became for a few minutes at the end of season 1) as a frequent fixer sue to get her back with the Doctor.

!!Canon Examples

** Not really, Bright only slaps him in SRWF. In SRW Alpha Shinji matured by having friends like Daisuke, Quatre, Kouji and Banjou. And he wasn't so much hot blooded as he was the Shinji before everything took a turn down shitville.

* In the film version of Roald Dahl's book ''The Witches'', the screenwriters introduce a young assistant witch Miss Irvine who is snubbed by the Grand High Witch as the plot proceeds. In the end, it turns out that this subplot is created simply so that she might appear at the end of the movie to reverse the effects of a spell cast upon the hero Luke, who was transformed into a mouse midway through the story; in the original novel, Luke remains a mouse forever. Considering that the original book ends with Luke talking about how he's going to die in a few years due to having a mouse's lifespan, and being ''absolutely thrilled'' by the prospect because it means he won't outlive his grandmother, it's pretty reasonable for someone to have said "Uh, yeah, that's creepy as hell, let's change that for the movie." Also there's [[spoiler:Bruno, the other kid who gets turned into a mouse. In the book, it's strongly implied that his family would never accept him like this and would most likely drown him or let their cat kill him. In the movie ends with Miss Irvine going to fix Bruno next]]. So yeah...
* Beloved as he is, [[ThePrincessBride Westley]] has distinct Marty Stu traits. He beats everyone at their own games, including defeating Inigo, who had been studying swordplay for 20 years, after just five years of practice; former enemies recognize that he's the only one who can solve all their problems, and he comes up with a successful plan on the spot, despite having been dead minutes earlier. There are elements of ParodySue at play here, but it isn't the dominant trait.
** You ''do'' know that ''The Princess Bride'' is a) {{Literature}}, not {{Film}}, b) the book "The Princess Bride" as written by S. Morganstern was a satire itself, right? Westley ''is'' a parody because the entire novel-within-a-novel is a parody of a satire unto itself.
*** First of all, there was a movie adaptation. Also, to the first troper, yes, it's a parody, and satire is often at its best when it's something resembling subtle, though YMMV.
