The trope requires a character more dangerous than a tantrum-throwing child, but the PsychopathicManchild, WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds, or a similar character may be extremely physically dangerous while being the kind of emotionally immature person who cries while he throws a (possibly well-provoked) violent temper tantrum. Occasionally they are just overwhelmed by fear, physical pain and plain horror of battle. It's hard to tell.

* In the "No Regrets" OVA for ''Anime/AttackOnTitan'' Levi makes a rash decision to try and go after Erwin on his own, despite the weather making visibility almost nonexistent, leaving his best friends Isabel and Farlan alone in truly dangerous conditions. As Levi rides out, he runs across the devastation left in the wake of a Titan attack. Upon realizing that his friends are in danger, Levi turns back, but is too late. He runs across Isabel's severed head and witnesses a Titan finishing off Farlan. Not more than a moment later, Levi unleashes a truly terrifying assault on the Titan, drawing out the attack as long as he can while screaming in anguish. After he finally delivers the killing blow, Levi stops and stands above Isabel's remains with his head lowered, and sobs.

* ''Anime/FullMetalAlchemistBrotherhood'', When Greed/Ling destroy King Bradley’s ultimate eye, he is so angry that tears begin welling up in the corner of his eyes. Justified in that Bradley is responsible for losses in both Greed’s incarnations, and in Ling’s case he nonchalantly murdered Fu- one of the most important people in his life.

* ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'': [[AntiVillain Gaelio Bauduin]] in ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamIronBloodedOrphans'' brusted out his tears when he knew [[spoiler: his ChildhoodFriend [=McGillis=] [[EtTuBrute betrayed him]] by using Ein's pride to [[ManInTheMachine modify Ein into a Mobile Suit]] as well as [[UriahGambit abandoning Carta]] to have her killed by Mikazuki (whom she's [=McGillis=] lover, to add insult to injury, she called ''[=McGillis=]'s'' name in her dying breath when she's rescued by Gaelio) just to ensnare Gjallarhorn. And knowing that [=McGillis=] will marry Almiria, Gaelio is ''not'' pleased for seeing his nine year old sister's life being ruined by a treachous friend.]]

* Yuuki of ''Manga/GameXRush'' does this after being stabbed and proceeding to demolish his assailant, although less from the stab-wound and more from the traumatic flashback spurred by said stabbing.

** Ambiguous example in Kakashi Gaiden. After receiving his Sharingan, the previously Kakashi emerges from the rubble with tears streaming from his transplanted eye, and proceeds to tear through his team's assailants with his now perfected Lightning Blade. The debate lies in whether this was a physical reaction to the Sharingan being transplanted into his scarred eye socket, or legitimately being overwhelmed by [[spoiler:Obito's death, which he blames on his late arrival in choosing between rescuing Rin and fulfilling mission.]] Kakashi before this moment had been a strict adherent to the Ninja code [[spoiler:after the trauma of seeing his father ostracized and eventually take his own life]], one of which stated true Shinobi never shed tears, compared to his present self teaching that one who abandons their comrades is worse than garbage. The contrast between the two personas and his behavior at the moment suggests the latter. On the other hand, frequent crying was also a trait of Obito, who had been the one insistent on jeopardizing their mission to rescue Rin [[spoiler:and from whom Kakashi received his Sharingan]]. The subsequent fight is either this trope or TranquilFury, depending on if the tears are emotional or physical.

* Occurs in ''Manga/ElfenLied'' in episode 12 by Kouta when Lucy says they're friends so that's why she didn't kill him. Kouta's also crying as he tackles Lucy after she murdered his father and sister and he bangs her body repeatedly into the ground. Lucy gets so upset by seeing Kouta's tear streaked face that she starts crying too. And Kanae does this as she's laying dead on the ground from when Lucy cut her in half and she had been upset at her brother Kohta for saying that he hates her.

** Katsuki Bakugo cries during his rematch against Izuku Midoriya, when he confesses that he blames himself for the end of All Might's career. This is actually the first time he actually shows a softer feeling rather than anger.

* ''Fanfic/{{Quicken}}'': After Emma goes berserker and kills several gang members who assaulted her, cut her nose off and threatened with raping her, she cries and screams while she stabs the last thug to death.

* [[spoiler: Matsuda]] in the final episode of ''Manga/DeathNote'' as [[spoiler: [[RageBreakingPoint he empties the clip of his gun into Light]] to stop him from writing Near's name in the notebook. He tries to put his last bullet between Light's eyes, but the rest of the task force holds it back, and the shot misses by near inches. ** Usagi bursts into tears after failing to save her friends from being kidnapped by Rubeus, then angrily turns to Chibi-Usa for taking away her transformation broach and is on the verge of ''slapping'' her before Mamoru held her back.
