And Scorza goes along with it out of his '[[UndyingLoyalty absolute commitment to the fascist cause]]' (read: he has no other option given he's been outmaneuvered by Ciano). And the final reaction to this event is basically "goodbye and good luck!"

** Schmidt's summit with Willy Brandt and the other slave rebel leaders is also humorous, largely because the rebels know Schmidt is as keen on drastic reforms as they are and is only concerned about being able to implement them. Which means all of their conversations in essence each of them telling him 'come on, live a little.'

* On a meta level, a common bug in the early days following the launch of the mod was a scenario involving a shrimping boat being seized by the US from Japan triggering a nuclear war due to no path towards deescalation being present. It became a meme very quickly.
