* In Legend of Korra, Amon’s Father somehow knew Bloodbending and it’s apparently known enough for Katara to make it illegal. Katara wouldn’t teach it to anyone and her friends wouldn’t spread her use of it. However When looking for Yon Rha, She used bloodbending on Yon Rha’s successor. Did HE report what happened? Or did Hama’s victims report it?

* Why Pakku was so eager to accept training Aang and his friend when asked the first time? He initially thought Aang was referring to Sokka.
* Sexism aside, there is another reason why women are not taught waterbending combat in the Northern Water Tribe that is very easy to miss. Notice that there are no male healers shown, despite being able to heal and fight in the heat of combat would be a massive advantage. Local society didn't consider their women oppressed in that regard because they are learning something exclusive to them! The real divide was the idea of exclusivity between combat and healing in the first place, which kills the versatility and options among the benders.
* Why didn't Roku (or any past Avatar) show up to intimidate Pakku like he did with Jeong Jeong after Pakku's declaration that Aang is not his student anymore, given that Aang has just been denied learning waterbending from the only master available and the fate of the world is put into jeopardy as a result? A couple of reasons:
** Pakku being of the Water Tribes cannot be convinced the same way as Jeong Jeong, as he is not from the Fire Nation and wouldn't hold Roku to high regard. If anything, he might blame Roku for not stopping Sozin in the first place and double down on his decision.
** While good intentioned and doing the supposed right thing, Aang still disobeyed his teacher. Not to mention, Katara would still need proper guidance rather than sneaking in classes to properly hone her skills.
** If Pakku is intimidated into teaching, he would clearly not teach to the best of his ability due to being forced to, leaving both Aang and Katara unprepared for the future. Ultimately, Pakku has to realize what tradition cost him by himself, only then can he teach for real and become a better person.

** If you combine that with the ten or so Fire Nation skeletons Aang found around that of Monk Gyatso at the Southern Air Temple, it probably sinks in that Aang's huge moral philosophical hangup wasn't with the mere fact that killing and death altogether is a reality of war; in fact, seeing those skulls was the moment he realized the passed century and the ongoing war were indeed real. No, his issue was the actual mission of setting out to attack and murder a man. This would kinda bring us back to FridgeBrilliance a little bit, except not only does that assessment contain an implied slighting of the lives of ordinary soldiers who would never be explicitly marked for death that way, but let's also think about the above example involving the people Aang has killed while under the influence of UnstoppableRage, his past lives, and other spirits in the Avatar State. Combine all those deaths, probably the one thing that HASN'T happened yet in that department was Aang himself actively making the conscious decision to stop someone at all costs, including murder, and going through with it to that very point. Now just think: if he had allowed his principles to be compromised into breaking that last plateau, most of the world would've been praising him at war's end just the same. He would be called a monster by a minority, but hailed by the majority as a WAR HERO, for something he could only bring himself to think of in terms of "WhatASenselessWasteOfHumanLife."

** His opponent is the head of state meaning that attacking Ozai is essentially treason. Even if we assume that any social and political status is pushed aside for the duel, Zuko wasn't just pleading to not fight his father out of basic human decency. It is also because he knows he is no match for his father. Combined with the knowledge of being TheUnFavourite, he knows he is scorched to a crisp for sure if he fought back. Pleading into a surrender was really the only option he can do. Even if by some miracle Ozai didn't fry him if he fought back and acknowledged Zuko's honor, there is no way an incident like this will be swept under the rug for the royal family, painting Zuko as a rebellious threat to Ozai and Azula.

* It's a really understated moment but right before the Gaang notices that Aang is missing, they're loading up onto Appa. We're not really told what they're doing but given the context of the previous episode, they were about to fly straight to Caldera, the Fire Nation Capital, and attempt to assassinate the Fire Lord. First of all, that is some dark stuff but the desperation of war has made it the only real option. This was almost certainly a suicide mission, even with the Avatar so thank goodness they called it off to go and look for our hero.

\n* Jeong Jeong doesn't firebend like most. His technique, from his stance to his movements and bending, more visibly resembles water and earthbending. Most notably, his signature firewall/firewave ability, is far more common among the other two elements than his native firebending. He even tells Katara outright that he envies waterbenders and wishes he were one; it's very likely he emulates waterbending and earthbending techniques in a rejection of standard firebending.

to:

* Jeong Jeong refused to teach Aang because he believed he wasn't ready; notably, he never explicitly said he never would. As the only firebender defector from the Fire Nation at that time, he had to know it would be his duty to teach him and had probably accepted he would need to do it eventually. He simply refused to do it until he thought Aang was ready.

* Chit Sang seems a lot more affected by his stay in the cooler than Zuko is later in the episode, shivering and huddled together when Zuko did not shiver and was able to let out a burst of fire. because Zuko used his breath to stay warm, a technique taught to him by Iroh when they were in the North Pole. Supplementary worldbuilding material says that Airbenders were able to stay warm using their breath, which is why Aang never wore a coat while traveling through the Water Tribes. One more point for Iroh's philosophy that every element can learn something applicable from the others.

** This even applies to Toph. Initially after joining the team in "The Chase", as a result of her parents' smothering, she was very standoffish to the others, insisting that she would only "carry [her] own weight", refusing to help the others with setting up camp, and being extremely dismissive towards Sokka for being unable to bend ("Okay, three on three plus Sokka"). However, her way of interacting with the others leads them to initially dismiss her assertion that Appa's fur was leading Azula straight to them and yell at her, and Sokka proves to be the strategic center of the group later on. The character development is made especially clear in the series finale, where she ends up needing to rely entirely on Sokka, who she initially dismissed, as they dangle from an airship together.

*** The Kyoshi novels seem to establish that Kyoshi's longevity is unrelated to Raava. Aang died too soon, suggesting her plan was flawed, as she likely didn't know the toll it would take (after all, she doesn't seem to be entirely aware of how she affects a human; she had no idea what would happen if she passed through Wan to give him the element) but it ultimately worked out as Korra was able to take on Vaatu.

Maybe they'll simply lock her in an isolated area and make sure no one goes into the area on the night of a full moon, but given how dangerous the bloodbending technique is if she were to get a new victim... Which leads to FridgeBrilliance in its own right; a further emphasis of the subtle message in the show that all beings are fallible. Nobody, no matter how wise or powerful they may be, is totally immune to making mistakes or learning from those mistakes.

Zuko, while brave, was also reckless and impulsive, something Iroh called him out in the episode "The Lake Laogai", pointing out Zuko's impulsivity and unability to plan ahead constantly hinders him. * Think about it for a second: the whole world was world]] was at war for a for a hundred years. Besides all the horrible things that happened in the canon, imagine all the horrors endured off-screen. What if people like Jet, Azula, Hama, and Ozai are more common than we think and they've been doing this for decades?! Imagine how gruesome this show would be without its TV-Y7 rating.

* The guards at the Boiling Rock torture prisoners for information in canon. Suki was the leader of the group of warriors found in the company of the avatar's primary means of transportation, so it makes sense she would have some idea of his whereabouts, information that would have been very useful to the Fire Nation. This is made even worse by the fact that we see an apparently hardened criminal fold to these interrogation techniques in a matter of hours. Suki is fifteen years old, and she was at the Boiling Rock for several months. That being the case, she clearly didn't give Aang up, which might merit a sort of off-screen SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome.

** Also, the Moon and Ocean Spirits are held immensely sacred by the Northern Water Tribe. There's probably someone assigned to look after their physical bodies, which would include food.
