* This author tends to focus more on historical events, and their fics are well-researched and beautifully written. Most are on the serious side, although the endings still manage to be uplifting, but there is an occasional crack fic. A few of their fics are already recommended in the General section (Wir leben noch in Geisterhäuser, Abschiedslied, Pika-don, also wrote Of Rue and Powdersugar in the Shipping section), so if you like these, I highly recommend browsing through this author's other works.

* The best ''Hetalia'' author I've ever encountered. Her characterization is amazing; shows all sorts of sides to characters while keeping them IC, and has an amazing writing style. Her fics can focus just as much on the characters as they can focus on the Historical side; she can potray Historical events though characters almost the same way ''Hetalia'' itself does. Her fics are all around perfect.

* One of the more infamous Hetalia fanfic writers. She's known for her cringe-worthy and horrifying (but nonetheless excellent) plots and rampant use of BDSM. Almost all of her works are extremely graphic and would not be recommended for the faint-hearted, but she ''can'' actually write fluff and romance as evidenced by her fic [[http://childishsadism.livejournal.com/13935.html#cutid1 Misfortune]], though she rarely does. That said, her fics are definitely a must-read. For those who can stomach the sex scenes, that is.

** That being said, she treats England's characterization very well in her works. Some of the [=UsUk=] moments she's included have been amoung the best this troper has read.

** YMMV on this - I would only rec their (especially Mithrilgil's) works to people who like DarkFic and the so-called [[DarkerAndEdgier "historical"]] approach that often eschews canon characterization. The stories are well-researched and technically well-written but these characters are not the same ones you can find in the Hetalia manga and anime.
** In their defense though, not all of their fics are DarkFic with YMMV!Debatable OOC-ness!characterization. So they do have the ability to write the characters with their Hetalia!canon!voices, they just don't necessarily do that for their more history-centric fics.

* Comments: This is not an author who will appeal to everyone. DYK writes a lot of dark historical stuff, much of which shows what Hetalia would be if it were serious and not a parody. But if you like that kind of thing, this author's writing will blow your mind. Her(?) fics are like a punch in the teeth that will leave you reeling and gasping in shock. Her writing hurts in all the right ways.
