** A more hostile example occurs in "Did Somebody Say Pancakes?". After Cody Jr. (who [[AscendedFanboy grew up watching reruns of]] ''[[AscendedFanboy Total Drama]]'') learns he's getting eliminated, he gets in one last bit of shade towards Katherine (whose father, Ezekiel, is the only contestant to be booted first on two occasions, and who shares Ezekiel's thick Canadian accent and "[[CanadaEh eh]]" VerbalTic).

* BriefAccentImitation: Link imitates Katherine's [[CanadaEh thick Canadian accent]] during one of his confessionals in "Shut Up and Drive".

* CanadaEh: Katherine. Thick accent, toque, "eh" VerbalTic, and all. [[SharedFamilyQuirks Though, to be fair, she IS Ezekiel's daughter...]]

* DistaffCounterpart: Katherine is basically a female version of [[GenerationXerox her father Ezekiel]] (as ironic as that seems, considering Ezekiel's elimination in ''Island'' was due to him [[StrawMisogynist making sexist comments]]). Like her father, she's a brown-haired, gray-eyed [[HomeschooledKids Homeschooled Kid]] raised on the Canadian prairie, and she also has her father's dress sense (green hoodie, blue jeans, and a toque with a pom-pom), [[CanadaEh thick Canadian accent]], [[{{Omniglot}} ability to speak multiple languages]], [[NoSocialSkills social ineptitude]], and she's even got a [[SuperpoweredEvilSide feral side]]!

* GratuitousJapanese: Serena is an OccidentalOtaku, and it shows with the amount of Japanese words she uses in casual conversation. Even her CatchPhrase, "Nani?", is an example of this.

* BuffySpeak: A RunningGag involving [[DumbJock Wayne]] is him listing a series of things, [[TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers forgetting the name of the last thing]], and trying to describe it using this trope. Such examples include referring to track and field as "that sport where you run around that big oval", referring to ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar'' as "that show about a buff guy who kills people with pressure points", and referring to an exercise bicycle as "that machine that’s like a bike but doesn’t move".

** Wayne listing a series of things, [[TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers forgetting the name of the last thing]], and trying to describe it using BuffySpeak.

* TheCutie: Barbara and Tophella are both examples. Barbara is a [[GirlNextDoor kindhearted and friendly]] NiceGirl and a ShipperOnDeck for all the couples on the show, and Tophella is an [[ThePollyanna optimistic]] AllLovingHeroine who loves [[PrincessPhase fairy tales]] and [[SickeninglySweethearts her boyfriend]].

* SaltAndPepper: The Toxic Rat Pups (Storm and Link) are a textbook example. Not only is Storm a black girl and Link a white boy, their personalities contrast each other as well; Storm is HotBlooded, [[LovableJock athletic]], confident, and more of a leader type, while Link is relaxed, [[{{Geek}} geeky]], [[FreakinessShame insecure]], and more of a follower type.

* BoobBasedGag: Storm. In "Campfire Emblem Awake-ening", it's revealed she has [[BoobsOfSteel large breasts]], and from then on, her "sha-boobies" ([[ICallHimMisterHappy as she calls them]]) are used as a frequent source of comedy. For example:

* BoobsOfSteel: Storm, the physically strongest girl at the camp, is also the bustiest.

* BadassesWearBandanas: The [[RatedMForManly incredibly macho]] Wayne wears a do-rag on his head.

** In "Aftermath: Blast from the Past", [[OverprotectiveDad Lightning]] does this as an IntimidationDemonstration when he recognizes Nero as the boy who accidentally [[ThanksForTheMammaries touched his daughter's breasts]].

* OverprotectiveDad:
** Topher. He is ''very'' protective of his daughter Tophella, and strongly disapproves of her boyfriend Keith. The reason why is because Keith's father, Dave, [[Recap/TotalDramaMoMonkeyMoProblems broke Ella's heart long ago]], and because Ella is now Topher's ''wife'', Topher hates him on her behalf, and doesn't want Tophella's heart to be broken the same way Ella's was.
** Lightning. In "Aftermath: Blast from the Past", when Nero steps onto the aftermath stage, Lightning recognizes him as the boy who touched his daughter's breasts, and, with an intense expression and some KnuckleCracking, reminds Nero that he could kill a shrimp like him with his bare hands.

* SmartJerkAndNiceMoron: The Drew/Wayne/Marissa PowerTrio pairs a Smart Jerk (Drew) with ''two'' Nice Morons (Wayne and Marissa).

The campers are divided into two teams, based on which season of the show their parents were introduced in- the Classic Cobras (consisting of the children of ''Island'' and ''World Tour'' contestants) and the Modern Mandrills (consisting of the children of ''Revenge of the Island'' and ''Pahkitew Island'' contestants). The Classic Cobras consist of Drew (son of Duncan and Courtney), Marlin and Marissa (children of Bridgette and Geoff), Emilia (daughter of Heather and Alejandro), Wayne (son of Lindsay and Tyler), Serena (daughter of Harold and Leshawna), Carter (son of [[HasTwoDaddies Noah and Owen]]), Cody Jr. (son of Cody and Sierra), Katherine (daughter of Ezekiel and Izzy), and Lydia ([[LivingADoubleLife secretly Tina McLean in disguise]]). The Modern Mandrills consist of Barbara (daughter of Mike and Zoey), Link (son of Sam and Dakota), Violet (daughter of [[HasTwoMommies Jo and Anne Maria]]), Storm (daughter of [[HasTwoDaddies Lightning and Cameron]]), Zack (son of Shawn and Jasmine), Keith and Skave (children of Sky and Dave), Tophella (daughter of Topher and Ella), Morgan (daughter of Sugar and Leonard), and Nero (son of Max and Scarlett).

* CosmeticCatastrophe: In "Not-So-Perfect Storm", the campers are all challenged to do their own makeup and assemble two outfits to wear on the runway. However, Storm, being a {{Tomboy}} [[HasTwoDaddies raised by two men]], has no idea how to apply makeup, and ends up looking ridiculous.

** Violet is associated with, and named after, violets. Not only are violets [[QueerFlowers associated with lesbians and romance between women]], which fits with how Violet is the only ''Total Drama Legacy'' contestant to [[HasTwoMommies have two mothers]], but the violet is also the state flower of New Jersey, [[{{Joisey}} where Violet is from]].

* HasTwoMommies: Three of the twenty campers are children of same-sex couples: Storm (daughter of Lightning and Cameron), Carter (son of Noah and Owen), and Violet (daughter of Jo and Anne Maria).
** Tina [=McLean=] is a downplayed example. She was adopted by Chris ''before'' he married Chef Hatchet, which makes Chef her stepdad.

* HereditaryHomosexuality: Both of the campers that [[HasTwoDaddies have two dads]]- Storm and Carter- end up in a relationship with someone of the same sex.

* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: [[spoiler: Drew. One of the fic's two primary antagonists, and a ''huge'' MommasBoy.]]

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: [[spoiler: Drew. StudentCouncilPresident, and absolutely ''ruthless'' in a fight. He even ends up making it to the final three!]]

* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Emilia may be ruthless, but she cares deeply about her girlfriend Lydia. In fact, Lydia serves as her MoralityChain, and when she gets eliminated in "A Shocking Twist", Emilia [[TookALevelInJerkass takes a level in Jerkass]].

* BoobsOfSteel: Storm, the physically strongest girl at the camp, is also [[GagBoobs the bustiest]].

** When Link asks to sleep in the same tent as Storm in "Wild Kat", Storm says "Alright. But if I find your head resting on my [[GagBoobs sha-boobies]] when I wake up, our alliance is over." Later in that episode, when Nero asks if he can stay in their tent, what does he end up doing that pisses off Storm? [[ThanksForTheMammaries He accidentally touches her sha-boobies]].

* GagBoobs: Storm. In "Campfire Emblem Awake-ening", it's revealed she has [[BoobsOfSteel large breasts]], and from then on, her "sha-boobies" ([[ICallHimMisterHappy as she calls them]]) are used as a frequent source of comedy. For example:
** In the aforementioned "Campfire Emblem Awake-ening", Serena [[SleepCute falls asleep cuddling Storm]], and dreams that she's on a date with [[Franchise/MyHeroAcademia Momo Yaoyorozu]]. Dreaming that Storm is Momo, Serena rests her head on her "bountiful bosom"… causing Storm to react with surprise and Serena to jolt back awake.
** In "Wild Kat", when Storm complains about not having enough room in their tent, Link says "Calm your ta-tas, Storm."
** Also in "Wild Kat", Nero enrages Storm by accidentally [[ThanksForTheMammaries touching her breasts]].
** In "Water You Gonna Do?", [[TheNicknamer Jo]] calls Storm "Knockers".
** In "Don't Bug Me", Emilia glares at Storm and says "Look at her, with her loving girlfriend who’s still in the game and her strong alliance and her jugs that are way bigger than mine."
** And finally, in "Aftermath: Endgame", Serena says Storm has "big muscles and big oppai".

* ICallHimMisterHappy: Storm [[InsistentTerminology insistently]] refers to [[GagBoobs her breasts]] as her "[[VerbalTic sha-]]boobies".

** [[GagBoobs Storm]] is "Knockers".

* PervertRevengeMode: When Nero accidentally touches Storm's [[GagBoobs sha-boobies]], Storm reacts violently, punching him in the face and shoving him out of the tent.

* TamerAndChaster: In ''Legacy'', the female characters are dressed in a far less {{Stripperiffic}} way than the female characters in, say, ''Island''. Storm and Marissa are the only ones to wear [[BareYourMidriff midriff-baring outfits]], Marissa and Emilia are the only ones to wear short-shorts, and Barbara is the only one who wears a miniskirt (and even then, it’s a mini''dress'' worn [[ProperTightsWithASkirt with tights]], so it’s clearly not meant to be fanservice-y). This is more appropriate, considering all the contestants are underage.

* BareYourMidriff: In grand ''Total Drama'' tradition, Storm and Marissa.

* EndearinglyDorky: Serena, full stop. She's a bespectacled OccidentalOtaku who is considered TheCutie both in- and out-of-universe.

* EpicRace: The race across the island in "Family Feud", [[spoiler: and the final challenge in "The Dash for the Cash".]]

* SlapstickKnowsNoGender: After the merge, Emilia ends up suffering a lot of AmusingInjuries. In "Family Feud", she trips over a branch and falls flat on her face, and later has Alejandro land directly on top of her. In "Don't Bug Me", she gets stung by a swarm of bees. In "Not-So-Perfect Storm", she gets drenched with water while wearing a fancy dress and a full face of makeup. [[spoiler: And in "She Who Lives By the Sword…" she goes tumbling down a hill, hits several stray rocks and bushes, lands in a pond, and gets CoveredInGunge.]]

* DrivenByEnvy: Emilia's hatred of Storm is implied to at least ''partially'' be a result of this. Storm is [[AmazonianBeauty physically strong]], [[AcademicAthlete highly intelligent]], well-liked by most of the other campers, and [[BuxomIsBetter has larger breasts than Emilia]]; therefore, Emilia hates her.

* DumbBlonde: Marissa is blonde, and is shown to be foolish and impulsive.

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Several ''Total Drama'' characters are much kinder in ''Legacy'' than they are in canon, likely in order to show how much they have matured [[FlashForwardFic in the many years that have passed]].
** Lightning is by far the most notable example. While his status as a "villain" is [[DesignatedVillain debatable]], one couldn't deny that he was an arrogant JerkJock in ''Revenge of the Island''. And while, yes, this side of him does occasionally surface (most notably in "Family Feud"), most of the time, he's a LovableJock who cares deeply about his husband and children. The sheer difference between Lightning's characterization in ''Revenge of the Island'' and in ''Legacy'' can be illustrated in how he treats Cameron. In the final episode of ''Revenge of the Island'', he was willing to flat-out ''destroy'' Cameron and said he was going to crush him "like a grape", while in ''Legacy'', he and Cameron are a HappilyMarried couple.
** Both Heather and Alejandro (who played the role of BigBad in ''Island'' and ''World Tour'' respectively) seem to genuinely care about their daughter Emilia. Heather is still shown to be judgmental and kind of a jerk, though, so she's a downplayed example.
** Courtney's negative qualities seemed to have been superimposed onto her son, as she's no longer portrayed as an irritable ControlFreak and is instead a very caring mother towards Drew. In addition, she and Duncan seem to have [[FixFic gotten back together]], and are happy with each other.
** Sierra seems to be far more mentally stable than [[{{Yandere}} her teen self]]. While this can be attributed to her having reached adulthood, it can also be attributed to the fact that she's living her dream. She and Cody are HappilyMarried and have a son together, so she has no reason to desperately try to convince Cody to like her.
** Ezekiel is also an example. Gone is the StrawMisogynist of Season 1 and the "feral freakshow" of Seasons 3-5, and in his place is a simple farmer whose [[TheGrotesque monstrous appearance]] belies a pure and kind heart. Though, given that [=FlamingMercury5=] is a big fan of Ezekiel, [[CreatorsFavorite to the point where he was her profile picture when she was writing the fic]] (though it's since been changed to [[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Principal Skinner]]), this should be expected.

** Ezekiel is also an example. Gone is the StrawMisogynist of Season 1 and the "feral freakshow" of Seasons 3-5, and in his place is a simple farmer whose [[TheGrotesque monstrous appearance]] belies a pure and kind heart. Though, given that Ezekiel is [=FlamingMercury5=]'s [[CreatorsFavorite favorite Total Drama character]], this should be expected.

** Given that Katherine is introduced as a {{Hikikomori}}, it was expected that she would have a character arc where she comes out of her shell and make it to ''at least'' the merge. However, what was ''not'' expected was her becoming one-half of ''Total Drama Legacy'''s main romantic couple (Katherine x Link), using the confessional booth more times than any other TDL camper (34 times, seven more than the second-most frequent user, Emilia[[note]]who used it 27 times[[/note]]), having one heck of a DarkAndTroubledPast, having a CuteAndPsycho [[SuperpoweredEvilSide alternate form]] that she can shift into and out of seemingly at will, and [[spoiler: winning in the end]]. This could probably be chalked up to the fact that she's Ezekiel's daughter; not only is Ezekiel [=FlamingMercury5=]'s favorite character, he's also a major ButtMonkey in canon, so it only seems fair that his daughter would be treated a ''lot'' more favorably than he was.
