And likes practical surgery.

* NormalFishInATinyPond: [=NeoChaos=] is a near perfect example of this, and openly states that they largely choose to visit universes where their abilities are to their advantage. In a less deliberate example, Lars is sent to the OhMyGoddess universe, where his origins give the local deities fits.

* TheMario: The Sons of Toji explicitly describe themselves as drawing a balance between the specialisations of the other Space Marine chapters. Ashley also notes that her Eva lacks any real bells and whistles, leading her to [[spoiler:seek assistance from the ''new!BattlestarGalactica'' crew.]]

* Main/ThirtyGambitPileup: What is happening in the ''ForgottenRealms'' universe. [[WordOfGod Word Of Academia Nut]] even linked to that article.

New Chaos are pretty damn dark grey by any objective standards, yet compared to canon Chaos - or for that matter even the lightest grey of the canon 40k factions - they are practically saints. Of course, there are less grey factions around, and with the ''MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha'' [[ImprobablyFemaleCast gir-]] people around there are also "white" factions.

** Ironically, this is what makes New!Chaos so much ''more'' reprehensible to many readers than their canon counterparts. Canon!Chaos's excuse for being evil is that they're essentially the UltimateEvil of the 40,000 'verse; they're ''expected'' to be irredeemable {{Complete Monster}}s, and they fulfill that expectation by CrossingTheLineTwice to become the ultimate symbols of violence, hatred and depravity. New!Chaos, on the other hand, doesn't cross that second line and doesn't get the moral immunity that comes with it; they're supposed to be humans, and the readers judge them like humans, and they've crossed so many {{Moral Event Horizon}}s that many readers call them the true villains of the series regardless of how much more evil the C'tan or Canon!Chaos are supposed to be (and it doesn't help matters ''at all'' that they frequently wind up fighting and curb-stomping pure white or light grey factions like [[MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha the TSAB]] or [[StarTrek The Federation]]).

** ""[[MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha Befriend]] is the correct term", Hikari confirmed." Especially resonant given the actual existence of MGLN as an universe in this story.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Quite a number of subplots, such as the ''{{Stargate SG-1}}'' or ''MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha'' ones, were left untouched in a while when the hiatus dropped by.

The Main/MegaCrossover sequel to ''FanFic/ThousandShinji'', ''[[http://bbs.stardestroyer.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=123083 The Open Door]]'' ([[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4320933/1/The_Open_Door alternate FanFiction.Net link]]) takes place twenty five years after Thousand Shinji, after Earth has been unified and Canon 40K technology introduced. At the beginning, a "representative" of Tzintchi is sent to negotiate with Kyon in [[Main/SuzumiyaHaruhiNoYuuutsu Haruhi's universe]], the eponymous 'open door'. It goes on from there and gets progressively more CrazyAwesome as more and more universes are drawn into it via the new Chaos Gods' quest to defeat the Necrontyr and the C'tan.

* Main/GodModeSue: Our heroes draw dangerously close to this, due to their technological superiority and choice to "visit" only inferior universes. Could be considered deconstructed in the same way as ConservationOfNinjutsu above. Academia Nut has noted that if they ever ended up in the Gurren Lagann universe, they'd get their asses kicked in seconds.

* IDidWhatIHadToDo: Discussed. "Your Blood War can be summed up with the two most evil phrases my people know. .... You devils however have 'Because I had to' on yours."
** [[FridgeLogic So just evacuating to another universe wasn't an option, eh?]]

* LoveItOrHateIt: One of the most polarizing fics in recent memory. The crux of the issue is New Chaos themselves and how they come across to the readers. Fans of the series point to their DangerouslyGenreSavvy tactics, frequently CrazyAwesome characters, and the sheer [[BeyondTheImpossible over-the-topness]] of the very premise (much less the execution) as reasons the series is awesome. Members of the hatedom, on the other hand, point to numerous well-liked characters to whom New Chaos has done some ''extremely'' objectionable things, which coupled with their apparent invincibility makes them look like [[GodModeSue God Mode]] {{Villain Sue}}s and {{Complete Monster}}s on top of that. More than a few fans have become diehard members of the {{Hatedom}} after a character they liked wound up on New Chaos's bad side and suffered greatly for it.

* MoralEventHorizon: Marella crosses this when she [[spoiler:destroys Silverymoon]].
** The Praxis also cross this when the name of their flagship, the ''Bombardment of Delhi'', is introduced. The reason why? It's crewed by ''humans''.
** New Chaos may have crossed when they [[spoiler:brainwashed Vita into joining them.]] [[CompleteMonster Or at any number of points before or after that.]]

* ValuesDissonance: Alicia attempts to defend the soul-eating thing by citing differences in their cultures.
* VillainSue: Another possible outlook on the main characters. Academia Nut seems from time to time to be using the series as a thesis for an argument on [[EvilIsCool Why Chaos Is Awesome]]; the main characters walk all over nearly everyone they meet (both bad guys ''and'' good guys) and commit some [[MoralEventHorizon extremely objectionable acts]] in the name of their own survival. The only ones who [[WhatTheHellHero call them out on it]] tend to be the ones who get curbstomped and brainwashed into joining them, and at present time New Chaos [[KarmaHoudini doesn't seem likely to ever pay for their lengthy list of atrocities.]]

* CrazyAwesome: Arguably neoChaos in general, but particularly Rong-Arya and the rest of the ''Stiletto'''s crew; see the JustAStupidAccent example.

** The Stiletto tanking [[BattleStarGalactica nBSG]] Cylon city-killer nukes even without its shields, slaughtering the invited boarding party and then [[spoiler: taking out two Resurrection Ships with a single shot]].
** When Lars got pissed, the Nesme Siege quickly turned into this. [[spoiler: Including Lars EATING three gods and forcing the gods to parlay out of raw terror]]. It was at this point that reviewers started getting unhappy.
** The battle with the Praxis is like this, culminating in [[{{Badass}} Rong-Arya]] [[spoiler: wiping out their entire civilization]]. With a [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome video]].
* TheDarkTimes: the [[spoiler: Extinction War]] definitely qualifies.

* EpilepticTrees[=/=]WildMassGuessing: Pretty dang heavy "planting" in the [=StarDestroyer.net=] BBS forums, to the point where even Academia Nut himself called the forumgoers out on being disruptive.

* Main/{{Expy}}: Academia Nut has said that [[spoiler: Washal the Pale's battlemech]] resembles "[[Main/BattleTech a combination of an Enforcer III and a Firestarter Omni]]". Also, the Whispered resemble the group of the same name from ''Main/FullMetalPanic'', amongst others.

* FanWank: Being a MegaCrossover, this was inevitable.

* Main/GodWasMyCopilot: [[spoiler: Asukhon Was My Fellow Trainee]].

* HumongousMecha: [[spoiler: Washal the Pale]] appears in this to fight Marella's silverfire golem. It qualifies as his SugarWiki/CrowningMomentOfAwesome. Oh, and did we forget to mention that New Chaos is now ''mass-producing'' Evangelions?

* MagnificentBastard: Tzintchi, definitely, but also Rong-Arya and a few others.

* DidNotDoTheResearch: Nanoha's refusal to shoot Toji and risk killing Vita during their MexicanStandoff makes very little sense when one recalls that Nanoha canon labels the [[FanNickname White Devil]] as a master of nonlethal spellcasting.
** Read that scene again. Toji specifically holds Vita's unconscious and nearly dead form out to one of his subordinates, who points his very large, to Nanoha, gun at her head while explaining in very clear terms that if Nanoha fires, Vita's life is forfeit.

So biologically Lars is the mother and Skuld is the father, insofar as biology can be applied to goddesses and daemons. (Technically, Lars doesn't have a gender.)
