--> ''"We might be neighbours, though!" Amelie replied chirpily, feeling like she should chip in with some sort of comment. She quite liked Davie's shyness; it made her feel less like the quiet one.''

-> '''Played by:''' Aarah
-> '''Age:''' 16
-> '''Birthday:''' August 8th (Leo)
-> '''Hometown:''' Willamette Valley, Oregon\\\

One of the Dupont twins. Amelie is a lover of fantasy and tales of adventure, and prefers the world of make-believe in her head to the real world. More shy and reserved than her sister Willa, Amelie tends to keep to herself and rarely comes out of her shell unless in the presence of her twin.\\\

Amelie's power is '''shield generation''', which allows her to generate a personal force field that radiates about an inch out from her body. She can also extend the shield to protect her twin sister through physical contact.
----
* AlwaysIdenticalTwins: Averted. Amelie and Willa are fraternal twins and are easily told apart by their differing features and style of dress.
* BarrierWarrior: Amelie’s shield generation allows her to form a forcefield around her or her sister, protecting her from harm.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Blue to her sister, Willa’s Red.
* ShrinkingViolet: Amelie is not a social butterfly, often keeping quiet and letting Willa take the lead. This is demonstrated early on when the new students are introducing themselves, and Amelie hopes that Willa introduces them both.
* YouthfulFreckles: She has a few freckles, unlike Willa.

-> '''Played by:''' [=TheShadowOne=]
-> '''Age:''' 17
-> '''Birthday:''' November 13th (Scorpio)
-> '''Hometown:''' ???, Michigan\\\

The child of plant loving parents from Michigan, Berry is a happy-go-lucky student with a unique sense of style. Berry dresses to true androgyny, and makes no effort to conform to gender norms with his choice in outfits.\\\

Berry possesses the power of '''Anatomical Liberation'''. He has the capability to split parts of his body off and control them when separated. The amount of force required to make this happen varies, to the point that parts of his body will split off without his urging.
----
* AmbiguousGender
* DetachmentCombat: Berry's Anatomical Liberation ability would give him the ability to do this in a fight, though no (on-screen) fights have happened as of yet where he would use this.
* PartsUnknown: Downplayed. Berry is from Michigan, but it’s currently unknown where in Michigan exactly he’s from. He says that his hometown is very small, and apparently thinks it's small enough that it doesn't matter.
* WhoNamesTheirKidDude: His name is actually “Berry.” He lampshades this trope during his introduction, and mentions that his sister’s name is “Poppy”

--> ''"I'm Cleo. Um, facts about me. Well, I can play the ukulele; sort-of. And I held my breath for two minutes once, that was pretty sweet." ''

-> '''Played by:''' [=SortaVulcan=]
-> '''Age:''' 17
-> '''Birthday:''' August 4th (Leo)
-> '''Hometown:''' Boston, Massachusetts\\\

A highly extroverted 'jack of all trades, master of none' from Boston. Cleo expresses a deep enthusiasm for new experiences and adventures, and due to FOMO (fear of missing out), she will jump into new adventures and pet projects with both feet; abandoning her previous ventures while only half-finished. \\\

With her power of '''Delayed Exhaustion''', Cleo has the ability to temporarily delay the effects of physical and mental exhaustion in herself. It’s very easy for her to do so initially and can almost be an unconscious reflex, but the longer she pushes exhaustion away and the more taxing the situation, the more conscious effort it requires to do so. Once she stops exercising this ability, the normal consequences of her exhaustion all flood back, stronger than they would have been if she had let them run their natural course.
----
* BigBrotherWorship: She practically idolized her older brother Charlie. His death in a car crash a year before the story hit her particularly hard, and led her to party relentlessly to the point of being hospitalized from exhaustion.
* BoringButPractical: Her Delayed Exhaustion ability isn't particularly flashy or unusual compared to the powers some of the other students have, but the ability to pull an all-nighter more easily is considerably useful in a school environment, and is far more applicable to everyday life.
* DeadpanSnarker
* QuirkyCurls: Her hair is naturally curly, and she has the high energy and extroverted personality usually associated with this trope.
* QuirkyUkulele: She plays the ukulele ("sort-of," in her own words). That said, so far she seems to be one of the less quirky (though by no means uninteresting) members of the cast.
* {{Southies}}: She hails from Boston, and the fact that she believes she has an ancestor from Ireland means that her being from South Boston is a very real possibility.
* YouthfulFreckles: A teenaged version of this. Her face has a dusting of freckles and she is joyful, energetic, and optimistic.

-> '''Played by:''' Velvet [=LaChance=]
-> '''Age:''' 16
-> '''Birthday:''' June 6th (Gemini)
-> '''Hometown:''' Seattle, Washington\\\

Davie is the child of a venture capitalist and an immunotherapy researcher, and was thus born into a life of privilege. In her ultrasounds she was incorrectly identified as a male by the presiding doctor, and her parents had decided on the name 'David' even after she was revealed to be female upon birth. \\\

Having been programming since the tender young age of 8, Davie (also known by her online handle [=''BooleanSwitch''=]) is a highly intelligent math whiz, and was poised for a prestigious internship at Google until the emergence of her power. She is shy and reserved in real life, but is far more exuberant online where she spends most of her time.\\\

Her power is that of '''Detection''', which allows her to pick up on the emotions of others in a large radius around herself. She cannot turn the ability off or suppress its effects, which caused her life in the city to be rather unbearable (and thus spurred her moving to Yarrow Run).
----
* ChildProdigy: She has been coding since she was eight years old.
* TheEmpath: Davie's Detection power is a version of this, though it's restricted to only detecting people's worries.
* GamerChick: One of Davie's biggest pasttimes is playing videogames, and she streams herself playing games.
* GenderBlenderName: Davie's parents were ready to have a boy, and had already painted her room blue when she was born and revealed to be a girl. They stuck with the name ''David'', but she prefers ''Davie''.
* PowerIncontinence: Davie has yet to figure out how to turn her power off, and like many of the other characters, it's not even clear if she ''can''
* TheQuietOne: Zigzagged. While not shy, she is quiet when interacting with other people face to face. Online, however, she is much more outgoing.
* TeenGenius: At least in the realm of arithmetic and programming.

--> ''She nodded her head in response. "Yes... it does... but will I be sharing a room too? Like everyone else?" Making it painfully obvious that what she wanted was to be just another kid.''

-> '''Played by:''' [=BetaB17=]
-> '''Age:''' 15
-> '''Birthday:''' February 12th (Aquarius)
-> '''Hometown:''' Unknown\\\

Some students at the Academy are more so victims of their own powers than others. Gwen is one of the extreme cases in this regard; her ability to project her emotions outwards for others to feel has resulted in friends and family leaving her throughout her life. As a result of the strain her power put on her personal relationships, Gwen has bounced from one foster family to the next, until her eventual arrival at Yarrow Run.\\\

Gwen's power (or curse, as she would likely put it), is '''Emotional Projection'''. She can project her own emotions onto other people, sometimes overwhelming their own emotional capacities. In addition, she can also project a sense of apathy to others as well, a function which terrifies her. She has little to no control over this ability, and her reluctance to explore her power only worsens this.
----
* TheBabyOfTheBunch: Gwen is the youngest member of the cast, at age 15.
* BrokenBird: A lifetime of being rejected or abandoned by family and friends, as well as many foster families, has left Gwen with depression, anxiety, and - according to her character sheet - suicidal thoughts.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: The toll her power takes on her interpersonal relationships follows her in every aspect of her life.
* DisappearedDad: Gwen's dad walked out on her at a very young age.
* EmotionControl: Gwen's Emotional Projection means that she can make other people feel the emotions she is feeling, and can lead to an outright EmotionBomb. But with her inability to stop herself from doing this, the word "control" is being used generously.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: Her ultimate desire is to be able to bring her power under control, so she can finally live a normal, mundane life.
* PartsUnknown: It has not yet been revealed where Gwen is from.
* PowerIncontinence: The primary source of Gwen's problems is that she has not learned how to control her powers. This leads to her being given her own room, partially isolating her from the other students so her powers can't affect them, much to her dismay.
* ScarsAreForever: Her signature scarf actually covers up scars on her neck, obtained from being abused by one of the foster families she stayed with.
* TroubledButCute: Gwen is adorable, and the shortest of the Player Characters, but has lived a life full of being rejected by friends and family, and had recently been diagnosed with depression before coming to Yarrow

- Burn Out by FIRE WALK

-> '''Played by:''' Kerr
-> '''Age:''' 18
-> '''Birthday:''' August 21st (Leo)
-> '''Hometown:''' Los Angeles, California\\\

The 'Miracle Baby' that survived the house fire that claimed the lives of her parents and older brother, J.D. is a fiery iconoclast who has bounced from one childcare institution to the next. As a teenager, J.D. entered what authority figures in her life called a 'rebellious phase', a 'phase' that doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon.\\\

Channeling her problems with authority into music, J.D. formed and became the frontwoman of an anarcho-punk band called FIRE WALK during her junior year of high school. Faced with an uncertain future as she neared the end of her education, a letter from the Academy on Little Hill prompted a discussion with her friends that convinced her to accept a better education for her last year of high school. After a tearful goodbye to her bandmates, June departed to Yarrow Run.\\\

J.D.'s survival of the house fire was more than just blind luck; she owes her life to her power of being '''Fireproof'''. Fire and heat don't harm her, and don't even cause pain. She is also immune to the byproducts of fire like smoke and toxins (such as carbon monoxide). This includes cigarette smoke, with June taking her weed as edibles and using cigarettes exclusively for the aesthetic and as something to do with her hands and mouth.
----
* DeceasedParentsAreTheBest: Her parents died in a house fire when she was still a baby.
* FieryRedhead: While JD’s hair is dyed red (it’s naturally dirty blonde), she still has the attitude to match.
* RebelliousSpirit: JD has a real problem with authority, smokes regularly, and dresses like a punk girl.
* SirSwearsalot
* SmokingIsCool: She certainly thinks so. It helps that her being fireproof means that she's completely immune to any of the physical effects of smoking.
* SpicyLatina: Her surname implies she is Hispanic or of Hispanic descent, and she is HotBlooded, passionate, and quick-tempered.

-> '''Played by:''' [=Captain Canada=]
-> '''Age:''' 16
-> '''Birthday:''' October 24th (Scorpio)
-> '''Hometown:''' Compton, California\\\

A bipolar trouble-child from the streets of Compton, Kamar's struggle with his mental illness and the downsides of his power have caused more than a few run-ins with the law. Kamar was given an ultimatum by his parents to either attend the school in Yarrow Run or become a prisoner in his own own; he chose the former, a decision he soon came to regret.\\\

Kamar's bipolarity causes him to go through alternating manic and depressive episodes, which have an effect on both his personality and powers alike. Depressive Kamar is fairly antisocial and introspective, while manic Kamar is outspoken but easily distracted.\\\

His power is that of conditional '''Super Strength'''. During his manic episodes, Kamar can exhibit strength rivaling that of an adult gorilla. Conversely, during his depressive episodes, Kamar is hardly able to muster anything above his normal strength. This power causes Kamar to burn through calories at a frighteningly fast pace, leaving him constantly hungry without consistent, highly caloric meals.
----
* BigEater: Due to the nature of his super strength using up a great deal of calories, Kamar is constantly snacking. According to him, it's even worse when he's in his a manic episode.
* BoisterousBruiser: He is when he's having a manic episode.
* ColourCodedForYourConvenience: Orange.
* NiceGuy: When in his depressive form, he’s actually a lot more empathetic.
* SneakingSnacks: He has to do this when his power renders him famished.
* StreetSmart
* SuperStrength: Not quite unlike the Hulk (albeit to a lesser degree).

-> '''Played by:''' [=Unionhack=]
-> '''Age:''' 16
-> '''Birthday:''' July 21st (Cancer)
-> '''Hometown:''' Hempstead, New York\\\

From the day of her birth, Ophelia has been a quiet child prone to losing herself in her own thoughts. The doctors at the hospital in which she was born in feared there was something dreadfully wrong with her, but in truth she was simply an unnaturally quiet infant. The prison that was her mind influenced her disposition for her entire life; she was a poor student, a recluse, and an overall problem to deal with for her psychologist parents.\\\

Though her condition makes her unable to express her true personality in public, Ophelia's quiet nature is broken when she is alone; she talks to herself as she does things (mostly to keep herself from zoning out), and expresses far more emotion when she doesn't have anyone around to judge her. Her online personality is quite boisterous and passionate, almost a cry for help from a girl who cannot bring herself to emulate her desires in real life.\\\

Using her '''Method of Ioci''' she can explore her own mind much like a physical space. Whether by urge or by accidental distraction, Ophelia can space out into her own mind and explore a mental, visual representation of it that resembles a greyscale geometric art piece. Within this visual representation she can browse the contents of her mind like a library, allowing her to review memories and other components of her brain's inner workings.\\\

This ability gives her a photographic memory and a strong fact-based mentality. However, her memories can be obfuscated by complications such as lack of attention, distractions, and other factors.
----
* AnythingThatMoves: Not in the extreme sense; Ophelia identifies as pansexual, and displays the pan pride flag on her laptop.
* BlackSheep: Among a family of socially adept Ivy League graduates, Ophelia is an academically challenged recluse.
* BlindWithoutEm: Has very poor eyesight without her glasses.
* ClosetGeek: In addition to being an OccidentalOtaku as described below, she also enjoys podcasts and tabletop [=RPGs=], which she is similarly guarded about.
* CovertPervert: She reads a ''lot'' of terrible fanfiction in her spare time.
* EducationMama: Ophelia's exceedingly educated parents were quite disappointed in her lackluster school performance, despite sending her to prestigious private schools pressuring her to do well. Sending Ophelia to Yarrow Run was their last hope in salvaging their daughter's future.
* GratuitousGerman: Subverted. Ophelia is near-fluent in German, but doesn't speak it unless she has a reason to.
* HollywoodNerd: She's actually quite pretty.
* INeedToGoIronMyDog: During the introduction exercise at the beginning of the story, Ophelia states that she really enjoys Quentin Tarantino movies. This isn't even true; she simply panicked and settled on the first thing she could think of so that her turn could pass.
* JewishMother: Not just her mother; both sides of the family. Although Ophelia doesn't practice the religion herself, her mother still falls into this attitude.
* LonelyRichKid: She's actually quite well off, but was never particularly close to her parents or her elder sister growing up. The only family member she enjoyed being around was her Aunt Dorothy, whom she lived with for a few months.
* {{Meganekko}}
* OccidentalOtaku: A closeted version. She loves manga, anime, and the like, but is nervous about people finding out about it.
* ParentsAsPeople: Ophelia's parents genuinely tried to raise her as best as they knew, which included insisting upon her success in school and sending her to expensive private schools. This was unfortunately incompatible with Ophelia's personality and difficulty with academic pressure, causing a rift between them.
* ProperTightsWithASkirt: Her usual go-to style, usually accompanied with a turtleneck sweater or a throw.
* [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RealMenHateSugar Real Women Hate Sugar]]: Ophelia has a rather dulled palate and isn't a huge fan of sweets.
* ShrinkingViolet
* SmokingIsCool: She would like to try it, at least.
* SuccessfulSiblingSyndrome: Ophelia's older sister, Harper Gray, is an Ivy League graduate who is currently earning her master's degree from Cornell, and is hoping to become a senator or representative of New York one day.
* ThePerfectionist: Although an under-performing student, Ophelia feels this way about the hobbies she actually cares about. She regularly discards sketches and musical compositions if they feel even slightly off to her.
* TheShutIn: Unless it's absolutely necessary, she would prefer to stay inside where she's most comfortable.
* [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair You Gotta Have Gray Hair]]: Ophelia dyes her naturally black hair to a pale steel gray. Retroactively gives her a MeaningfulName.

-> '''Played by:''' Aarah
-> '''Age:''' 16
-> '''Birthday:''' September 25th (Libra)
-> '''Hometown:''' Yakima, Washington\\\

Always an adventurous boy, Scott was a fairly well-behaved lad until he started high school and began hanging out with friends who were a bad influence on him. It was around this time that he discovered that he could make certain people do things just by verbally asking or telling them to. This power thrilled Scott and he began using it to get 'free' things and make other kids at school do things for him.\\\

Scott is notably pessimistic, foul-mouthed, and is openly unhappy about his place in the town of Yarrow Run. He regularly voices his displeasure and makes quips at the expense of others, causing some of the other students to have a low opinion of him.\\\

He is capable of '''Psychic Manipulation'''; Scott has a way of 'charming' the more weak minded, making them more inclined to do what he wants.
----
* CharmPerson: His Psychic Manipulation ability allows him to do this. He has used this power for more selfish gain, such as getting people to give/buy him things or do tasks for him.
* TheCharmer: More than just an aspect of his personality, Scott has the ability to supernaturally charm others in his favor.
* DisappearedDad: Scott's father died when he was nine years old.
* DrunkWithPower: Absolutely loves his ability, regularly abusing it to get others to do his bidding.

-> '''Hometown:''' Las Vegas, Nevada\\\

Summer hails from the legendary Vegas Strip, and grew up surrounded by gamblers and casinos. Growing up she was subjected to unusually harsh bullying, which ruined most of her chances to have an active social life. Wreaked with seizures and migraines due to the consequences of her ability, Summer found solace in utilizing her power to generate revenue in illegal gambling operations. Soon after turning 18, she was invited to the Academy; an invitation she initially feared to be a trap sprung by law enforcement to crack down on her underage gambling.\\\

Her power, '''Sensory Scrying''', causes her to see through the eyes of another person if her own eyes meet theirs. This also causes her to perceive the other senses of the person, as if her consciousness has been temporarily implanted in the target. This power causes significant physical ailments if used in excess, and is entirely involuntary, rendering Summer unable to look people in the eye without spacing out.
----
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer
* DangerousSixteenthBirthday: Hers ''sucked''.
* EmbarrassingNickname: When she introduces herself to Kamar, Zach, and Gwen, she lets them know that they can call her by her name, or "Nevada," or "Seizure Girl." Thankfully, Zach and Kamar go with "Nevada".
* PoliceAreUseless: She was somehow never apprehended for her illegal gambling activities.
* PowerIncontinence: Summer has no control over when her powers activate which is a primary source of anxiety from her. She wears sunglasses at all times as they help keep her scrying powers at bay.
* SeeingThroughAnothersEyes: This is essentially what her power is, along with being able to tell what that person is feeling. However it is limited, since she must look the person in the eyes first in order to make it happen. But as mentioned above, she has no natural control over whether or not it happens outside of wearing sunglasses. That said, she has used it to participate in illegal gambling, where the ability to see though someone else's eyes would come in handy.
* SupremeChef: Summer loves to cook, and is quite good at it as a result of frequent practice.

--> ''"Well duh it's a boy's name. You just said it yourself; two-point-five girls or whatever. That's what makes it groovy! It's weird, but, like, it's good weird." ''

-> '''Played by:''' Cassandra
-> '''Age:''' 16
-> '''Birthday:''' August 8th (Leo)
-> '''Hometown:''' Willamette Valley, Oregon\\\

One of the Dupont twins. Willa is confident and friendly, not afraid to share a smile or start a conversation. Taking the step from friendly to a friend is not one she often makes, however; She's never been very close to anyone other than her sister, and has no great desire to change that. Curious, imaginative, and gullible, Willa's always open to new ideas and experiences. \\\

Willa tries to emulate hippie culture in her daily life, though not for conventional reasons; convinced that modern society is all part of a grandiose plot by the government (and by extension, aliens), she thinks that people must return to "being human". She really just wants to try to make the world a better place, in her own special way.\\\

Her power of '''Thoughtography''' lets her burn images onto a variety of surfaces, though the pictures are clearest when burned straight onto undeveloped film. Due to her close connection to her sister, if burning a picture of Amelie, her surroundings will be evident as well, whether or not Willa is actually aware of where her sister is.
----
* AlwaysIdenticalTwins: Averted. Willa and Amelie are fraternal twins who look and dress differently enough from one another to be easily told apart.
* ConspiracyTheorist: She’s convinced that all of modern society (all of it!) is the work of the government working together with aliens.
* GranolaGirl: Has this type of personality, down to speech mannarisms.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Red to her sister, Amelie’s Blue.

Every school needs a terrifying delinquent, and the Academy has its own in Wynona Wall. Rebellious and free-spirited, Wynona's first meeting with the new students was fittingly as she stepped out of the back of a police cruiser. Wynona makes no secret of her disdain for the authority of the school, leading her to frequent conflict with the administration. \\\

Wynona is able to '''Heal''' others, though the extent of this power is not yet known.
----
* ActionGirl: When Zach (unwisely) asks what she had been arrested for, Wynona heavily implies that she had been detained for fighting/assaulting someone.
* DrugsAreGood: Wynona had a hidden cache of speed hidden in one of the girl's restrooms.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Wynona's first appearance was her stepping out of the back of a police car. She immediately proceeded to mouth off and light up a cigarette in the presence of the officer that had her detained in the first place.
* {{Jerkass}}: She is not afraid to be blunt or to make her opinions known.
* RebelliousSpirit: Literally her first action in the roleplay was stepping out of a police car, and heavily implied to Zach that she had been detained for assault.

-> '''Played by:''' Skyhawk
-> '''Age:''' 16
-> '''Birthday:''' August 12th (Leo)
-> '''Hometown:''' Savannah, Georgia\\\

The latest in the line of Shepards to attend the school in Yarrow Run, Zachary is one of the only students known to have a hereditary power, as opposed to an isolated case. His situation gives him a different perspective to the other new students, as his family had prepared him with stories and advice before he attended the school.\\\

Zach is a carefree trickster who delights in playing pranks on others. His approach to life is often lackadaisical, and he takes things in stride befitting his attitude. He is far from uncaring; he simply likes to have fun, and a minor inconvenience never hurt anyone.\\\

The family power that Zach inherited is '''Shadow Emergence''', which allows him to traverse shadows as small pocket dimensions. Using this power allows Zach to hide from sight in any source of darkness, though he is as of yet unable to emerge from a different location than where he began. His power is not without limitations; If someone shines a light on a shadow he’s using, he’ll be “forced out” as the pocket dimension collapses around him. He has not yet tested if he can bring another living being into the shadows.
----
* ButtMonkey: The first day establishes him as this. First a prank he’s pulling backfires as two of the victims get incredibly upset, then just as he’s being picked up by another character, he gets put down by a fourth.
* CityMouse: He’s from a large city and has a bit of trouble getting used to the countryside that surrounds Yarrow.
* ColourCodedForYourConvenience: His wardrobe consists predominantly of blue, white, and grey.
* DeadpanSnarker: Oh, ''very much so''.
* EmergingFromTheShadows: Literally. His power is that he can enter and exit shadows, turning them essentially into pocket dimensions.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Zach pulls a prank on Kamar, Summer, and Gwen, and once the latter two express their displeasure, he immediately tries to apologize to them, while mentally kicking himself.
* GoodParents: His parents did alright by him and his sister, and he thinks of them fondly.
* [[GratuitousForeignLanguage Gratuitous Korean]]: Averted. Zach is implied to speak Korean fairly well. When Kamar offered him some Korean snacks, Zach pointed out that his pronunciation of the snack's name was horrible.
* MrExposition: A minor version. He’s the one who tells the new students that Yarrow Run is actually a school for kids with superpowers, and even tells them when it was established, and that nobody really knows how the staff are aware of who in the country has powers.
** Justified, as most of the new students didn’t know these things.
* NiceGuy: Excepting his typically benign pranks, Zach is genuinely kind and friendly.
* TheNicknamer: Zach likes to give nicknames to the other students. So far among the Player Characters alone, Amelie is “Violet”, Berry is “Blueberry,” Cleo is “Curly”, Davie is “Python” after the programming language, Gwen is “Cupcake” (originally "Daisy" but that was rejected), Willa is “Woodstock” after the hippie music festival, and Wynona is “Buttercup” after the [[WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls Powerpuff Girl]]. Kamar and Summer introduced themselves as “K-man” and “Nevada,” respectively, so he just calls them that.
* ThePrankster: Zach has a mischievous side that he expresses by pulling pranks on people, and even pulled one as his Establishing Character Moment. However, he’s selective about what he does, refusing to cross the line and pull something is permanent, will hurt someone, or would cost a lot of money to undo. His practical jokes are thus (meant to be) more like minor inconveniences for his victims.
* ShadowWalker: His powers let him do this. While this trope is usually used for dark or morally ambiguous characters, Zach himself is firmly on the side of good aside from a mischievous streak.
* TheStoryteller: Zach’s dad, aunts, and uncle went to Yarrow, and told him every interesting story, fact, and trivia about they experienced. He often relates these stories to the other students.
* SuperpowerfulGenetics: Unlike most other students at Yarrow, Zach’s shadow merging is hereditary, with his father’s side of the family having it for generations.

'''''Yarrow Run''''' is a PlayByPost roleplay hosted by members of the [[https://forums.uesp.net Unofficial Elder Scrolls forums]] on a private discord server. The roleplay initially took the form of a forum-based roleplay thread on the forums themselves, posted on May 3rd of 2017. The original roleplay generated significant hype and became a hotly discussed topic in the forum's RP community. However, the original thread only got a few posts in before the GM was forced to close the roleplay due to real-life circumstances. The hype endured, and the original participants continued to discuss and theorize about the roleplay until it was relaunched on Discord as ''Yarrow'' on September 21st of 2019.

The story takes place in the eponymous town of Yarrow Run (alternatively known as ''Yarrow Falls'', ''Yarrow Runs'', or simply ''Yarrow'' depending on which local you ask), a lonely settlement deep in the foggy reaches of Washington State. The town is home to the ''Boarding Academy for Special Cases on Little Hill'', an institution that houses teenagers in possession of supernatural abilities and specializes in acclimating them to society in light of the challenges they face.

The player characters, as the newest group of special cases brought to the school, are soon met with fellow "superpowered" students and administrative faculty alike. Friendship, drama, and the omnipotent aura of mystery await them within...

------
!!This RP provides examples of:

* AccidentalMisnaming: When Scott introduces himself to the rest of the Player Characters, he says "I'm Scott. I'm a Libra." Later, when Ophelia is recalling the names of the other new students to Chris and Mia, she says that Scott's full name is "Scott Eimalibra."
* AliensInCardiff: Does the specialized institute built to instruct supernaturally gifted students reside in some populous, technologically advanced city such as Los Angeles or New York? Nope, it takes place in [[NothingExcitingEverHappensHere a foggy town in the middle of Nowhere, Washington State]], quite a ways away from the much larger Seattle.
* AwesomeButImpractical: Some of the abilities possessed by the students, such as Willa Dupont's ability to burn images from her mind onto surfaces, are interesting but limited in practical use.
* BoardingSchool: The titular academy is this, as it deliberately seeks out students from across the nation.
* BoringButPractical: Some of the abilities possessed by students, such as Cleo Lane's ability to delay her exhaustion, are considerably useful in a day-to-day environment, but not quite as out there as some of the other powers.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: The participants in the roleplay have been playing together for years, and references to older roleplays and acknowledgements of real-world elements are inevitable.
* CharacterCustomization: As a text-based roleplay, the players have absolute freedom in their character's appearances, habits, and personalities among other qualities.
* CityOfAdventure: Averted. The roleplay takes place in the fictional but mundane town of Yarrow Run.
* {{Delinquents}}: June, Kamar, and Wynona.
* {{Diary}}: In a fourth-wall-breaking sense. The roleplay has a number of documentation resources on Google Docs, as well as a meta discussion channel where the participants can discuss the events of the story and the actions of the characters.
* DownerBeginning: The story begins with the students leaving their homes to travel across several states (some coming all the way from the east coast), a reality that is handled better by some students than others. A number of students are actively resentful of the reality of their new life.
* DustbinSchool: Some of the students, like Scott and Kamar, originally thought Yarrow was this, only to be proven wrong.
* EldritchLocation: Ophelia's ''Method of Ioci'' power allows her to browse [[MentalWorld a tangible representation of the contents of her own mind]], which takes the form of a greyscale geometric space not unlike the loading screens of [[Franchise/AssassinsCreed Assassin's Creed]].
* FastForwardMechanic: As with many roleplays, when the story hits a snag or a break in the action, a timeskip is usually called upon to move things along.
* FirstDayOfSchoolEpisode: The RP starts the day before the Player Characters' first day of school at Yarrow.
* GoshDarnItToHeck: Almost always averted. The characters that do swear typically do so with impunity.
* LikeRealityUnlessNoted: Besides the supernatural bent that is carried by the abilities of the students, the world of ''Yarrow Run'' is nearly identical to the real world, sharing most of the same media and real-world events.
* MostWritersAreAdults: All of the participants are over 18 years of age, unlike the characters themselves.
* MythologyGag: Being a UESPF roleplay, there is an almost-certain chance that a cougar will show up in some shape or form.
* PsychicChildren: The core component of the setting is children with psychic powers being sent to an academy that helps them manage their abilities safely.
* RecruitTeenagersWithAttitude: Most of the participants are pretty sure that this is what's going to happen.
* SuperheroSchool: The Academy is a version of this. All of the students do possess superpowers of some kind, but the school is meant to teach the students how to live everyday lives despite their powers rather than use them to become heroes.
* TakeYourTime: Time passes relatively to the needs of the plot's progression.
* TeensAreShort: While the Player Characters cover a variety of heights, most of the boys are somewhat shorter than average, such as Kamar being 5’4”.
* TwoTeacherSchool: Yarrow only has four known faculty members, one of which is the principal and another is a school psychologist, leaving only two others to simply be teachers. Potentially Justified as Yarrow is an incredibly small school with fewer than thirty students.
* WellDoneSonGuy: A noticeable portion of the cast has daddy issues.
* WeirdnessMagnet: Kansas claims that Yarrow in general is this trope, even saying it feels the students are “trapped in some terrible Twin Peaks spin-off.”
* YearX: To avoid having real-world issues color the roleplay's story, the campaign is set in the non-specific year of 20XX.
** Given that smartphones are abundant and the characters consume such media as [[Podcast/TheAdventureZone The Adventure Zone]], it is safe to assume that the year in which the story takes place is 2015 at the earliest.
