The crux of his most famous works and the two that really put him on the map. He was hired by Creator/RoosterTeeth to work on was creating never-before-done (at the time) animation for ''Machinima/RedVsBlue'', for which he worked tirelessly to make Tex even more awesome than previously thought possible. possible.

After finishing up season 10 of ''[=RvB=]'', he Oum launched a new web series under the name of ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'', something he said he'd always wanted to do since he got into animation. As the director and lead animator of ''RWBY'', he took employees and writers from all sections of Rooster Teeth, including fan favorites from Creator/AchievementHunter, to produce the series. In between his movies, he was working on an adaptation of [[Music/{{Vocaloid}} Hatsune Miku]] for VideoGame/{{MUGEN}}.

He also worked briefly as a combat designer for Creator/MidwayGames and Creator/BandaiNamcoEntertainment (as a combat designer for the former and combat designer/animator for the latter's ''Anime/AfroSamurai'' game). His Another long-term goal, goal of Oum's, aside from making movies for his fans, was to make the most awesome fighting game ever. Some fans have begged for him to make a game based on ''RWBY'', something he somewhat [[http://38.media.tumblr.com/b2bfc4fdb85def81a3dfc580f0638a8e/tumblr_n7ly33i5fw1sk8tsio1_1280.jpg hinted at]] before a ''RWBY'' game, ''[[VideoGame/RWBYGrimmEclipse Grimm Eclipse]]'', was confirmed at RTX 2014.

He Monty Oum died on February 1, 2015, 2015 at the age of 33 after [[https://roosterteeth.com/post/3302319 suffering an allergic reaction that left him comatose two days earlier]], even though with [[http://www.gofundme.com/MontyandSheena a fundraiser]] was being set up to help with paying for the expenses. In his memory, Rooster Teeth has [[http://roosterteeth.com/members/journal/entry.php?id=3302319 challenged]] everyone whose lives were touched by Oum and his works to use their creativity to make the world a better place.

His Oum's online presence lives on through [[http://www.gametrailers.com/game/monty-oum/4712 a video list of his work]] over at [=GameTrailers=], his Website/DeviantArt [[http://montyoum.deviantart.com gallery]], his original Website/YouTube [[https://www.youtube.com/user/montyoum channel]], and his former Website/{{Twitter}} [[http://twitter.com/montyoum account]].

His older brother, Monyneath "Neath" Oum, took has since taken over voicing Monty's role the character that Monty voiced on ''RWBY'', Lie Ren.

On the "What should not go on creator pages" section on Creator Page Guidelines: "Tropes that apply to individual works they've created. Any tropes listed should be relevant to their work as a whole, not to just one work. So if a trope only applies to one work they've made, please list it on that work's page instead." In this case, BlazBlue has its own page.

Deleting an entry off a creator's page solely because the work has a presence on this wiki is bizarre. Adding it back in and linking to the pages in question.

* AttentionDeficitCreatorDisorder: Between ''Machinima/RedVsBlue'' and ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'', ''WebAnimation/DeadFantasy'' was hit hard by ScheduleSlip. Unfortunately, due to [[AuthorExistenceFailure Oum's death in 2015]], the lattermost will never be updated.

** Freddie Wong of Creator/RocketJump had spoken to Oum beforehand about maybe collaborating on some projects, which they'd supposedly gotten far on. Because of Oum's sudden death, these plans were nixed.

Dragon Ball Z Abridged and Web Animation/RWBY have their own pages.

* AuthorExistenceFailure: A shocking and tragic example. He was entirely fine and healthy until mid-January 2015; ''two weeks'' later, he died from a severe allergic reaction. At the age of 33, he should have had ''decades'' more work in him. As a result, ''WebAnimation/DeadFantasy'' wasn't completed, and while ''RWBY'' continues, it will always have a ''heavy'' cloud of WhatCouldHaveBeen hanging over it.

* WhyFandomCantHaveNiceThings: Oum used to be very active in Facebook, often chatting with and exchanging ideas with fans alongside posting character model turnabouts and information such as weapon names. This changed when he started getting bombarded with comments and messages demanding he finish ''WebAnimation/DeadFantasy''. A photo of him and his family at his mother's wake getting these comments was the last straw, so he turned his Facebook page into a like page and rarely visited it anymore. Twitter was the only social media outlet that he updated regularly until his death.
* {{Workaholic}}: It was a common sight in the RT offices for Monty to work overnight on his animations and need to be dragged away for appearances in podcasts or other media.
