* NeverLiveItDown: While he'd always been known for some fairly controversial views about how the Marvel Universe should be run, he was in general considered a massive improvement over his predecessor Bob Harras, who had infamously exacerbated Marvel's legendary mismanagement in the '90s. Then he mandated One More Day to be done, and suddenly his name was a byword for an overbearing higher-up with too much creative control and goodwill for him dried up (though it is not actually true that he was the only one pulling for the retcon and several earlier concepts for the story were arguably even worse). He built up a reputation as a man who was in the comics business to make everything how it was when he was a kid and/or vent personal issues, only exacerbated by a number of possibly apocryphal but widely-circulated quotes attributed to him where he disparages the fans.

* CrisisCrossover: While Quesada was EIC, the main Marvel books had Avengers Disassembled, House of M, Civil War, World War Hulk, Secret Invasion, Dark Reign, and Siege. Meanwhile, Marvel Cosmic had Annihilation (happening at the same time as the Civil War on Earth), followed by a sequel called Annihilation: Conquest. War of Kings spun out into Marvel Cosmic from Secret Invasion (fitting, considering the Skrull are space villains), and the fallout from THAT finally finishes with The Thanos Imperative.

* Attempting to avoid the comic book stereotype of DeathIsCheap and prevent CListFodder by adopting a "dead is dead" policy, which was later ignored to bring back Psylocke, Colossus, and Harry Osborn. Quesada stated that the policy wasn't an absolute mandate, but rather a rule of thumb to present to writers so that stories requiring a death or resurrection of a character wouldn't become frequent or produced without gravity.

!!!This Comics creator provides examples of:

* Animesque: Some of Quesada’s art was heavily influenced by Manga
* BigApplesauce: He's a native New Yorker, raised in Queens interestingly enough.
* CListFodder: The dead is dead policy was supposed to give writers pause before using lower-tier characters a SacrificialLamb. Unfortunately it also prevented previously killed characters (like Jean Grey, Colossus, Moira Mac Taggert and Psylocke) from being brought back.
* DeathIsCheap: Tried to Avert this, later PlayedStraight.
* ExecutiveMeddling: Writers of the X-Men had difficulty bringing fan favorites BackFromTheDead due to the "whoever is dead stays dead" policy, though that mandate probably kept them from killing characters willy nilly as well. Though JMS was part of the planning process, he fought with him over the execution of Spiderman: One More Day.
* SmokingIsNotCool: Had Wolverine drop his smoking habit.
* TheCameo: Has appeared in some of the Franchise/ViewAskewniverse films. One of the villains in the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie is named after him.

Editor-in-Chief at Creator/MarvelComics between 2000 and 2011, and a very polarising figure indeed. Started off as an artist, probably best known for his work on ComicBook/{{Daredevil}}. He took the editor job in 2000 and, while comic sales have risen since he took over, they are still a shadow of the sales in the UsefulNotes/SilverAge through the 1980s.
