A third-year student at Hebijo Acadeny . She’s a sadistic character who acts like the queen of the castle, and her favourite thing in the world is to tease the weak. Yet despite this, she cradles her juniors’ feelings and acts almost like a mother figure to them. This maternal instinct is probably the reason why she is fond of Hibari from Hanzo Academy.

* CatSmile: She's make a rather goofy one in Bon Appétit.
* CensoredForComedy: In Bon Appetit, when she declares that she wishes to become Queen of the World, she says this line that digusts Ikaruga:

* CoolBigSis: She acts more in the lines of big sister mentor to the other girls. Hibari even reminds her of such after she starts having doubts.

* DifficultButAwesome: Like Hibari she's sort of strange to get the hang of at first, but eventually becomes very strong.

* RobotBuddy: Ever since ''Versus'', Haruka has a small battle robot hidden in her lab coat. It has piston punches, claws, chainsaws, flamethrowers and a notable AI, considering it's capable of fawning over Haruka. (As though she'd build a robot that wouldn't).

* VileVillainSaccharineShow: Prior to her and Dōgen's appearance, the story is a lighthearted {{Fanservice}}-fest with villains who are goofy and shown to be good people deep down. Then she shows up and instantly raises the stakes by being a genuinely scary EldritchAbomination who takes the game into SurpriseCreepy territory. The first game actually resembles a ''Franchise/{{Kirby}}'' game in this regard (fanservice not withstanding)- 99% of it is a lighthearted romp, only for the last 1% to abruptly introduce a creepy, eldritch FinalBoss.

* ChristmasCake: Rin's not very happy when people make fun of her for being so old and unmarried. She's ''really'' annoyed in ''Peach Beach Splash'' that the girls are getting attention and not her.

* SempaiKohai: She has this dynamic with both the rest of the Hanz&#333's students as their Sempai and with Rin as her kohai.

* SempaiKohai: She was once Daidouij's Sempai.

* AmbiguousDisorder: Hikage's supposed lack of emotion, as it's not clear if she actually has a disorder or she has a very strong psychological block of some sort. She was like this as a child, displaying a rather cold detachment to everything around her before and after she became a Hebijo student, and repeatedly has to have emotional concepts like happiness and sadness explained to her. In contrast, Hikage's internal thoughts show that she can experience feelings under certain conditions, like being reminded of her past and fighting Katsuragi.

* WeaponOfChoice: She single-handedly uses a ''Nōdachi'' called Hien.

* WeaponOfChoice: Metal boots.

* WeaponOfChoice: [[ParasolOfPain Her umbrella]].

* WeaponOfChoice: What ''does'' she use? Ninja Magic and a KillerRabbit.

** Her green hair, [[HellishPupils yellow eyes]], [[SnakesAreSexy snake motifs]], and [[KnifeNut love of knives]] make her appearance-wise a [[GenderFlip gender-bent]] one to [[VideoGame/BlazBlue Hazama/Yuuki Terumi]]. In terms of [[AvertedTrope personality though]], [[EmotionlessGirl they couldn't]] [[ReiAyanamiExpy be any]] [[FauxAffablyEvil more]] [[LaughingMad different]].
* FaceOfAThug: Has HellishPupils, dresses in a street-gang manner, is a KnifeNut... but not all that bad.

* KnifeNut: She's very good with her knife, and relishes the chance to use it.

* EverythingsBetterWithSpinning[=/=]SpinAttack: Several of Katsuragi's attacks incorporating spinning or drilling motions into them. While the most notable is the Tornado Spindle, one of the most impressive is the Dead Screw Dragon, which involves channeling an energy dragon around her body and spinning while drilling into her target.

* AbsoluteCleavage: Her ninja outfit.
** DigitalBikini: After ClothingDamage is applied.

* JapaneseDelinquents: By proxy, considering that how she wears her shirts (with a shortened skirt and AbsoluteCleavage) is reminiscent of yankii, she loves fighting, how she acts and talks in a crude manner, and considering her background of being abandoned, it's safe to assume she would have adopted this lifestyle.

* CryCute: During her more hilarious screw-ups.

* CryCute: Mirai has her moments where she's reminded of how much she suffered from being bullied and left alone, which sometimes causes her to tear up.

* LightningBruiser / JackOfAllTrades: Despite ostensibly being the “Mario” of the series as the starter character and a relatively balanced fighter, in practice Asuka boasts good power, speed, AND defense relative to the rest of the cast. In fact, when fully upgraded, she’s easily one of the strongest shinobi in the game outside of the deliberately OP secret characters (IE Daidoji and Rin). It helps that her attacks are also straightforward and have no gimmicks beyond being powerful and fast.

* LightningBruiser / JackOfAllTrades: She's a balanced fighter, but also boosts good attack and speed and is probably the best overall character to use in combat.

* NiceHat: One that looks like [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure Jotaro Kujo's]]. Wearing it changes her normally-blonde hair to black, thus creating her signature look. [[spoiler:She started wearing it sometime after Rin went missing, since when they meet years later, Rin didn't recognize Daidouji at first due in part to the difference in hair color]].

* AmericansHateTingle: In the [[https://senrankagura.fandom.com/wiki/Senran_Kagura_Character_Popularity_Polls#Portrait_of_Girls/Burst official Japanese poll]], she won first place with 3215 votes and while she hasn't gotten first place again she still gets a considerable amount of votes, the same can't be said in the west though. An elimination based poll was done on reddit and she couldn't even get into the quarter-finals; in fact she was just five spots away from being in last place with only 10 votes, a far cry from what the Japanese polls say about her.
