The Mariners are servants of Poseidon, God of the seas and rival of Athena. They are equipped with Scales, Armors similar to the Cloths. Despite being only Seven generals(Not counting Thetis, who serves as[[TheDragon Julian/Poseidon's left-hand]]), they are strong as and possibly even stronger than a Gold Saint. Each one represents one of the Earth's oceans and an mythological sea monster.

Seeing that it was wrong to awaken Poseidon in this era, he helped Phoenix Ikki destroy the Pillar of the North Atlantic Ocean.
