* YouFailBiologyForever: Besides the fact that these "squids" only have 8 tentacles, they also have a ringed jaw of teeth. Real squids have parrot-like beaks.

* TheVoiceless: The squid is the only mob that doesn't make a sound. Somewhat [[JustifiedTrope justified]] in that squid don't make noises in [[RealLife real life]]. [[/folder]]

Tall green [[strike:[[FreudWasRight penises]]]] creatures. Arguably the most recognised (and infamous) mob in all of Minecraft, and have the ability to explode, Creepers will make your life miserable. They drop gunpowder upon death.

* TennisBoss: You can reflect Ghast fireballs with melee attacks, arrows, fishing rods, or even snowballs. Good thing, too, since they love to float out of range of your conventional weapons.

* AsteroidsMonster: They come in four sizes: Small, Normal, Big and Huge. The larger ones will slit into smaller ones when they take enough damage.

* The Yoshi: [[AndTheFandomRejoiced Pigs make great parachutes when you ride them via saddle]]. Good thing, since you can't control them.

* DemonicSpider: According to Notch, Ghasts make "The most unfair mob more unfair". In your first encounter, you learn a few things about ghasts. They look like floating jellyfish (okay, that's not so bad). They've very big (easy target). They fly (annoying, maybe). They shoot exploding fireballs (wait what?).** Gameplay has revealed exactly how little justice is done with just the descriptions players were given. They have ''enormous'' sight and attack ranges, drift ''far'' above the player, usually a good bit out of bow range, and while it was mentioned that they shot exploding fireballs...well, en masse, they shoot ''lots'' of fireballs that ''[[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment explode.]]'' DeathFromAbove doesn't really begin to cover it.

The fourth (and smallest) friendly mob added. Randomly drops eggs, and drops feathers upon death.

The first hostile mob added to the game. They make moaning sounds and [[FridgeLogic drop feathes when they die]].

Large spiders that jump at the player. During the day, they turn passive and only attack if you attack first. They drop string upon death.

The name and the large, cartoonish face may be an homage to Yuji Horii's iconic Slimes from the [[DragonQuest Dragon Quest]] series."

He caught a Sheep, and it looked at him as if he was saying "How could you?" right before being sucked in. He made a memorial and named it Thomas; he quickly became a prophet to the community. Shortly after, Notch added Cows which are both annoying and had a case of pushing someone into a lava pit. Someone called their god "Mooch", and it quickly became a religious war with Sheep vs. Cows.
