She also steals from Ryofu's treasury after the latter gave her a lodging, even though Ryofu doesn't mind at all. Averted in ''Kan Women Chronicles'', in which she warms up to her companions after they helped her save Choukun.

* AlphaBitch: She's a rich blonde who considers herself to be the strongest and most charismatic ruler of China, with everyone else beneath her and badly treats her subordinates.

* StealingFromTheTill: One of Maachi's events in ''Ryuuki no Taimou'' involves huge embezzlement of public funds on Enshou's part, who bet it on horse races in order to multiply it and renovate a decaying store. After winning the bet thanks to her savvyness in gambling, she then intends to use the money to pay workers to build the store anew. Upon hearing of her intentions, Ryuubi and her advisors have a debate regarding her use of public funds in gambling, but ultimately went for a slap on the wrist as her idea does help people on the long run.

One of the numerous non-Han tribes living in remote parts of China. Settled in the southwest part of the country, the tribe lived on its own until their first meeting with Shoku, as they were fleeing from Gi's forces invading in the north. Following a quick skirmish over the ownership of a territory, the tribe eventually accepted Shoku's presence and allied with them, as long as their forest isn't invaded.

Recognizing the Ten Eunuchs and the Ka Sisters as a threat for stability, she eventually begins a coup with the help of Chouryou and Kaku, killing all of the eunuchs except Chouchuu and imprisoning the Ka sisters, leaving the Empress to her own devices while acting as her regent and caretaker because of her young age.
