* NeverFoundTheBody: After disappearing in the river, she's never seen again, but given her grievous wounds, the generals of Go think it's unlikely she would survive.

The main character of the visual novel series. He is a modern day Japanese student who was sent back in time for unknown reasons, and can end up in either of the Three Kingdoms depending on the games. In the first game, he's sent to the past when he attempted to stop a mysterious student from stealing an ancient Chinese mirror within the school's collection and ended up breaking the mirror in the process, and ends up becoming the leader of the Shoku Kingdom. Due to his abnormal costume (his school uniform) and manner of speech (English loanwords), he is mistaken to be the "Messenger from Heaven" who is said to be able to bring peace to China.

* BadassNormal: He has an above-average level in kendo, allowing him to defend himself in times of need but combat isn't really his forte. He also has a good grasp of military tactics.
** He was able to take down a motherf***ing dragon with some faceless soldiers.

* CowardlyLion: In Gi's route, despite being afraid to go into his first battle with the other generals, he still manages to survive and witness all of it, even though he fainted at the end.

* ForWantOfANail: His very presence in the Three Kingdoms can cause history to take a very different turn, the most notable example being his contribution to Sousou's conquest of China in ''Souten no Haou'', despite her historical counterpart failing to do so.

* TheHero: He always has been the main character in the entire series, with the first game putting him in the shoes of Liu Bei (one of the main heroes of the original epic) before Ryuubi was added in the second game onwards.

* TheOneGuy: As the protagonist, he's the most prominent male character of the series and is always the only male general in a setting involving female warriors.

* TrappedInAnotherWorld: He's an OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent who gets randomly teleported to an alternate version of Ancient China so he can build a large harem with the GenderFlipped characters of the ''Literature/RomanceOfTheThreeKingdoms''.

* BerserkButton: Saying she's nothing more than a meat seller.

* LadykillerInLove: Gender flipped, as she easily seduced many men on her way to become the Empress Dowager of Kan, but begins to feel something for Kazuto after he rejected her.

* ADayInTheLimelight: Surprisingly, she has an expanded role during the events of ''Maiden Chronicles'', becoming a bodyguard for the En Faction in a alternative timeline where Kazuto ends up with the En clan instead of the original Three Kingdoms.

* OnlySaneMan: Even moreso than Ganryou, as the only advisor of Enshou with actual knowledge of war tactics.

* UngratefulBastard: Despite being spared by Sonsaku and asked not to enter the city ever again, she quickly goes back to her word and prepares a new plot to get revenge, but her lack of resources makes her harmless. She also steals from Ryofu's treasury after the latter gave her a lodging, even though Ryofu doesn't mind at all. Averted in ''Maiden Chronicles'', in which she warms up to her companions after they helped her save Choukun.

* SatelliteCharacter: Most of her character revolves around Enjutsu, being her faithful servant and utterly devoted to her. It is also one of the reasons she isn't a major threat, as most of her political and diplomatic skills is for Enjutsu to use, completely lacking an ambition of her own.

Among the three, Mike is the most curious and seeks funny adventures with Moukaku, and doesn't think too much about complex things.

Tora instead indulges in eating lots of food, being particularly fond of meat, as it helps her forget about bad days when she's full.

* TheWomanBehindTheWoman: Whenever Enjutsu comes with a new plot to harass Go (particularly Sonsaku), except Choukun to be the one in charge. ''Eiyuutan 4'' notably has Enjutsu and Choukun attempting to trap Sonsaku and some of Go's generals on a remote island through an elaborate scam involving debt-trap and forced labor.

* VileVillainSaccharineShow: In a series consisting mostly of romancing gender-flipped warlords in a relatively tame adaptation of the Three Kingdoms, she stands out by being the sole villainous warrior of them all, with no redeeming qualities at all. Even the most selfish characters from the Imperial Kan faction, such as the Ka sisters, became loyal retainers of Gi.

* GenericDoomsdayVillain: Downplayed. The Goko are stated to have their own culture and customs as non-Han confederacies, but they appear as little more than generic nomadic warriors attacking and ransacking the country.

* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: In ''Souten no Haou''. She fails so often at everything that she comes out as sympathetic for trying.

* TheNotLoveInterest: She's one of the few major characters who doesn't express any romantic interest towards Kazuto in the main games, content with Choukun at her side.

* ParentalSubstitute: Her relationship with Enjutsu has similarities with that of a surrogate mother and her child, being the one who teaches her about the outside world.

Recognizing the Ten Eunuchs and the Ka Sisters as a threat for stability, she eventually begins a coup with the help of Chouryou and Kaku, killing all of the eunuchs except Chouchuu and imprisoning the Ka sisters, leaving the Empress to her own devices while acting as her regent and caretaker because of her young age.

The faction would be eventually given its very own episode in ''Shin†Koihime Eiyuutan Gaiden'', in which Kazuto ends up as a retainer of the Imperial Kan Court, instead of the three kingdoms.

* EasilyImpressed: As part of the payment, she demands for Go on top of honey, she asks Sheren to do a perfomance for her or else she would punish them for failing to satisfy her. Kazuto then proposes to please her with an old-fashioned fake thumb removal, which impresses her so much that she takes a great interest in him, fascinated by his technique.

* SatelliteCharacter: Most of her character revolves around Enjutsu, being her faithful servant and utterly devoted to her.
