Either way, she willingly lives in a cave, keeps close track of her friends' romantic lives, is incredibly bubbly and somewhat ditzy, and eventually acts as a Sprite with Feferi, even after they separate. It's not if she has a condition, it's what condition she has.

* BeneathTheMask: Vriska's life is a long tale of the tragedy that comes from trying to be someone you aren't. Everything about her outward demeanor - the dramatic flair, the manipulation, the cruelty and ruthlessness - are survival mechanisms drawn from the mythical persona of her seafaring, slave-taking ancestor and equipped as armor against Vriska's surroundings and frankly horrifying childhood. Underneath the grandeur, she is much more subdued and self-reflective, and she does enough to make it clear - in her own carefully-crafted Vriska way - that she ''does'' care about the people around her and is actively trying to save them, albeit in her characteristic destructive, overdramatic way. Her retcon self, who is very thoughtful and mild-mannered, gives a pretty good window into the sort of person Vriska could have been without a life of nonstop trauma compounded by the galaxy's worst role model.
