I started editing the page just to acknowledge the existence of Col. Godwin and in just kind of grew outwards. The only thing I cut is the Stealth Pun under the pilot, because what they're describing is objectively not a pun.
** In [=DaiFukkatsu=], when [[spoiler: Colonel Longhena announces his plan to take over the world of the past, the player has the option to peaceably walk away and just let him. In the Xbox 360 translation, the option to do so is even phrased "Not at all, sir, it was an honor serving with you"!]] It's entirely possible the only reason the pilot even has the option is because [[spoiler: Colonel Longhena]] specifically asked it as a question instead of giving an order.

The BulletHell genre, which the entire ''[=DonPachi=]'' series falls under, is a sub-genre of the ShootEmUp, of which many of the most successful games in this genre either have an ExcusePlot or no plot.
