* DarkAndTroubledPast: He's a changeling, an escaped slave of the fey, so this is implied. It turns out that he's a bit less upset over it than most other changelings.
* TheDriver: Seems to be his main job.

* ColdSniper: She's the retinue's sniper, and although there hasn't been too much emphasis, she certainly ''seems'' cold due to her muteness.
* CuteMute: Definitely mute, but jury's still out on "cute."
* GamerChick: At one point while the retinue is waiting for the next mission she runs off to buy a video game.
* MyNameIsNotDurwood: She actually hates the nickname "Kat," but as a mute CatGirl, knows she can't really do anything to stop people from using it.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: While she's not actually a vampire, she has the eyes.

* MoreDakka: He carries around a minigun, and explicitly describes his job as "Spreading bullets like water."

Apparently the source of the screamers. Very little is known about him, including "his" gender, other than that he likes killing.

* AxeCrazy: He considers it a show of willpower when he doesn't torture someone just because he can.
* BigBad: Almost certainly. [[spoiler:There's ''someone'' behind him, but they're slowing him down, not really helping him]].
* TheChessmaster: Though his plans are generally "How can I kill the most people today?"
* TheFaceless: Due to only appearing in scenes from his own point of view.
* NoNameGiven: For every other scene from a certain character's view for the first time, they start with "My name is ___" and a few facts about themselves. Not the Composer. Even that title was WordOfGod.
* PlagueMaster: Maybe. He's behind the zombies, but his method of creation is a little bit...odd, so it may not count.
* PragmaticVillainy: He'd cheerfully slaughter everything in reach, but eventually he'd run out of things. So he's doing it another way.
* SpannerInTheWorks: In his chapter he notes that the Paladins are messing with his plan [[spoiler:because Lizzy was supposed to be the fifth Paladin, not Adam]].

A girl who looks like a demon, and one of Derek's friends.

* OnlyOneName: On the cast page, she's only given one name.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: She has horns, red eyes, fangs, and a tail. The tail is new.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Subverted; she doesn't seem like a bad person.
* WhyDoYouKeepChangingJobs: She has at least two, and implies she has more. Derek claims she has "billions."

Another native of Domina, and a childhood friend of Derek, Laura, and Akane. Somewhat of a satellite character. She has a power, though exactly what has yet to be revealed.

* TheChick: She's not quite a member of the FiveManBand, but Derek and Laura try and keep her out of harm's way.
* ChildhoodFriends: To both Derek and Laura.
* CunningLinguist: Zusa notes that she speaks both Vietnamese and Yiddish fluently, and no one seems surprised. She's also either shown or mentioned to speak Gaelic, Spanish, Japanese and Icelandic.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: The others are intentionally keeping their role as Paladins away from her.
* TheNicknamer: Refers to Akane as "Ken-chan" (which the author translates as "Little Sword"), and Zusa as "Zuzu." Judging from comments, these are far from the only nicknames she's given out.
* SupernaturalGoldEyes: She does have a power, but we don't know what it is yet.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The girly one to Laura's tomboy.

A native of Domina and friend to Derek and Akane. He and his sister have at least one class with the pair. He recently joined the sibriex.

* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation[=/=]YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Purple skin and green hair. He mentions that this is actually somewhat low-key for a sibriex.
* BigBrotherInstinct: To Seena, a little bit more than she is comfortable with.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: The sibriex apparently really like playing with the toy maker, though Simon himself isn't very good at it.
* StalkerWithACrush: There are...intimations of a less than positive relationship with Akane. They haven't come up again since she pulled a knife on him in his introductory chapter.

Another native of Domina and friend to Derek and Akane. She and her brother have at least one class with the pair. She recently joined the Mals.

* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation[=/=]YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Jet-black skin and hair, to match her nighteyes.
* HitmanWithAHeart: She believes her new subculture, the Mals, are this. Others are not as convinced.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: She recently joined the Mals, vampire assassins.

* PettingZooPeople: She's a murid, a mouse kemo, but unlike most kemos her buffs are mostly internal. [[spoiler:Her sister is the murid warlord]].
