Sorae then tells him that she would not tell him because she does not want him to make Shiro suffer, to which Hagire then declares that she does not have any room talk because her hands are just as dirty as his, a point that she does not deny.]]

* TheChessMaster: [[spoiler: The Chairman was using/toying with Tamaki the whole time.]]

* JerkAss: In her introduction she is harsh to the inmates and (non-lethally) slices Yoh's chest when he interrupts [[note]]and also because she caught him stealing Ganta's candy and he wouldn't admit to it when she ordered him to give it back[[/note]]. [[spoiler:However, her rather one-dimensional view of justice inadvertently sided her with some of the more moral prisoners against the warden, after which she was a useful ally. She just kind of settled down after that.]]

* MsFanservice: PlayedForLaughs whenever she's not fighting and in her {{Moe}} phase, but takes a darker turn as she's also one of the only girls who was shown naked on-screen, [[spoiler:which was when she was being raped by her dad]].

* AdaptationalWimp: In the manga, whilst not ''strong'' in the beginning of the manga, he was a pretty clear Determinator, who wouldn't back down from a fight. The only exception to this rule is his first fight with Senji, where he quickly realizes he's out of his element. In the anime, however, his behavior in the first few chapters is ramped up to the point of Flanderization, where he is gets beat up and shoved around in every single episode. This is most prevalent in Episode 2, where he is willing to quit the Dog Race despite the fact that he would die the next day if he did, a pretty major plot point of the episode. * RatedMForManly: It is Senji's job to essentially make every other man in the series look like a wimp. [[spoiler:The final chapter has him going [[HandicappedBadass rockclimbing with just the one arm!]]]]
