She also makes an appearance in ''VideoGame/{{Fatal Frame V|Maiden of Black Water}}'', ''VideoGame/DynastyWarriors Strikeforce'', ''VideoGame/WarriorsOrochi'' and ''VideoGame/SenranKagura''.

** Ayane even appears in ''VideoGame/{{Fatal Frame V|Maiden Of Black Water}}'', armed with a [[{{Lunacy}} Spirit]] Stone [[InfiniteFlashlight Flashlight]], since she can't use the [[MagicalCamera Camera Obscura.]]

* OfCorsetsSexy: Ayane's ''Fatal Frame V'' costume consists of a corset and tight leather pants.
* OhCrap: Her reaction in ''Fatal Frame V'' when she discovers that her blade has ''no effect on the ghosts,'' and then almost immediately, when ''she gets manhandled by a plethora of them'', leaving her so drained that she has to ''crawl'' her way out of the mountain.

* HandsomeLech: Especially towards Tina Armstrong, from ''[=DOA2=]'' onwards. Naturally, [[OverprotectiveDad Bass ain't gonna let that happen.]]

->A professional wrestler with dreams of fame, Tina joins the Dead or Alive Tournament in the hopes of getting noticed by the right people. So far she's been (aside from a wrestler) a top model, a Hollywood action movie star, and a rock star[[spoiler:, and as of current, aims to be the governor of Texas]]. She's best friends with Lisa Hamilton, fends off Zack whenever he tries to hit on her, and has a rocky relationship with her OverprotectiveDad Bass, who Tina tries to avoid as much as possible.

* DaddysGirl: To her father Bass. Although nowadays [[OverprotectiveDad it's to her frustration]].

* BerserkButton: Don't try to hit on or insult his daughter. [[OverprotectiveDad EVER!]]

* {{Eagleland}}: Mixtures with strong on Type 1. He has a distinctively "American" theme about him. While he's loud and boisterous, he's not an obnoxious one due to being an AllAmericanFace, and [[OverprotectiveDad always tries to protect those he holds dear (even if the subject doesn't quite approve)]].

* OverprotectiveDad: He's not very fond of letting Tina hang out with other men, or even stray too far from his career path into the squared circle just to flaunt her assets (in every sense of the word).

* PlotArmor: Teaming up with ConservationOfNinjutsu to keep her clan from killing her over the course of 3 tournaments. Considering that she defeats Raidou, someone who even both Ayane & Hayate couldn't beat together, says something. Subverted, Dimensions shows that when Hayate and Ayane fought Raidou they were acting irrationally. This is evident when Ayane told Hayate not to use Torn Sky Blast against Raidou because of his copy abilities. Despite the warning Hayate did it anyway and as a result it back fired badly. Likewise, later on when Ayane tried to attack him, Kasumi shouted for Ayane to stop, but she didn’t listen and was easily knocked away. While Kasumi did initially defeat Raidou, she needed help to finish him off. During Kasumi’s Torn Sky Blast clash with Raidou she was being overpowered, but Hayabusa provided an opening for Kasumi to take advantage of. That being said Kasumi has consistently been shown to be an incredibly skilled ninja throughout the series. In order for her to even be allowed to face Raidou she had to defeat all the combatants of the Dead or Alive tournament. When Kasumi reigned victorious over Raidou, Victor Donovan became obsessed with her, and ended up cloning her to make super soldiers from her DNA. While Kasumi has been defeated by Hayate before she has been shown many times to have comparable or even greater skill than him. Likewise Kasumi has defeated Ayane multiple times throughout the series when the latter tried to kill her. In DOA 4 Hayabusa trusts that Kasumi is capable of handling the incredibly dangerous Alpha 152 alone. The result is they end up fighting to a standstill, prompting the clone to retreat. In DOA 5 a Kasumi clone was shown to be capable of holding her own against both Hayate and Ayane at the same time. Since the clone believed she was the real Kasumi she only used non-lethal attacks against them. Likewise, Ayane and Hayate knew the clone wasn’t the real Kasumi and they both had killer intent. It was ultimately a joint effort that resulted in the clone’s death. In the game’s climax the real Kasumi is responsible for destroying Alpha 152.

** Kasumi's fighting ability is clearly superior to Ayane's (and their brother), given she was able to defeat Raidou and Alpha single-handedly. Whereas Ayane fell easily to Raidou, nor could she defeat Alpha despite having assistance from Hayabusa. Yet, Ayane still continues to antagonize Kasumi and has lost to her nearly every time they've fought.

* ShipTease: There was some of this in the earlier games with Hayabusa, although ''Dimensions'' seems to have put [[ShipSinking an end to that]].

* BadassBaritone: As of 5, Bayman speaks in a deep voice (in both English and Japanese) and is obviously Badass, being a professional, dangerous assassin who fights ninjas on a regular basis.

* GagBoobs: It's more of an InformedAttribute, though it gets used in a one-off gag bit, during her [=DOA4=] ending. Amazingly enough, she's the only female character who's been used for this in the entire series.

This was retconned years later, by ''DOA Dimensions''.

* TheBabyOfTheBunch: When doing any task with her two siblings she is this being both of their baby sister.

* IconicOutfit: A short purple strapless dress with a butterfly on it and a red GiantWaistRibbon, plus matching pull-on sleeves, stockings, and heeled ankle boots. It's even available for her in Xtreme 3 despite it not being a beach outfit.

* EverythingsBetterWithDinosaurs: It certainly was the best way to boost Jann Lee's badass status, by having him knock out a T-Rex.

* FightingWithChucks: Jann Lee reserves them for cutscenes, he is shown training with nunchucks in ''[=DOA2=]'', fending off thugs with it in ''[=DOA3=]'' and showing off with Ryu in ''[=DOA4=]''. He is spotted training with one by Kokoro in ''[=DOA5=]'' and accidentally broke a vase with it, triggering a fight.

* ShesGotLegs: And many of her costumes show them off.

* KickChick: Which is hardly any surprise, since [[ShesGotLegs her legs are her most prominent feature]], along with her "other" [[FootFocus pair of assets]] which get shown off frequently. Her trademark dresses ''certainly'' help.

* ShesGotLegs: Forget the jiggle physics, ''this'' (along with plenty of FootFocus) is Lei Fang's fanservice department and she covers it by leaving her gams ''un''-covered.

* AwesomeMcCoolName: Both his real name and his alias.

->A Bouncer and a self-taught Jeet Kune Do martial artist, Jann Lee is a regular in the Dead or Alive tournament, he has been participating since the first edition; Jann Lee’s sole purpose in attending these tournaments is to improve his martial art discipline and show the world that he is a great fighter.

->Jann Lee comes from a troubled childhood, his parents died early in his life and so he was taken to an orphanage at -some province in China, apparently he lived in poverty as he was seen out of the orphanage begging for food; the local thugs bullied him and ridiculed him for being young and defenseless, with this harsh life and horrible surroundings the young Jann Lee decided then to become strong and make a living for himself through martial arts.

->Jann grew up into a great martial artist, using his skills to work as a Bouncer at clubs, he became quite overconfident and slightly arrogant too by reaching this far. Now living the good life Jann Lee only focuses in improving his already great martial art discipline, that’s when he decides to participate in the Dead or Alive Tournaments, through it he met great combatants who became his regular friendly rivals, Lei Fang whom he saved from a group of thugs six years prior the first tournament, Ryu who tried to warn him off the tournament as bigger threats were involved and Hitomi who also believes real strength comes from within oneself.

* TookALevelInKindness: Jann's good deeds throughout the tournaments seems to have been briging out the best in him, the high point so far is his path in ''[=DOA4=]'', it's entirely made out of Jann Lee being helpful and nice.
* TranslationStyleChoices: In the first ''DOA'' Jann Lee's profession was described as a Bodyguard, which is quite the multi-field profession, still all we saw was Jann working at clubs thus implying that he is more of a Bouncer, the term commonly used for Bodyguards who mostly works at bars and clubs. Starting from ''[=DOA2=]'' Jann Lee's profession was described as a Bouncer and it has been ever since.

* InformedAttribute: In the very first Arcade build for ''Dead or Alive'', the character bios also stated their Hobbies, Tina had Video Games as one of her hobbies; the Hobbies Section got immediately dropped for the Console release and never appeared again in following installments. Tina has never actually expressed any interest or even a hint of being a ''Gamer Chick'' on-screen to boot.

* BrokenBird: Ayane exhibits signs of emotional scarring, despite her outward reticent demeanor. The most telling incident being when she [[spoiler: attempted to take her own life via ritual suicide]], simply because she believed Hayate hated her for openly criticising Kasumi in front of him[[note]]it caused Hayate to slap Ayane in a rare moment of anger[[/note].

* HumanDemonHybrid: Her hair and eye color both [[MarkOfShame serve as indicators]] of the cursed blood she inherited from Raidou. It's the reason she was ostracized by the rest of the village and eventually began referring to herself as the Hajimon Tenshin's, "female Tengu"[[note]]essentially, branding herself a demon[[/note]].

* AbsoluteCleavage: In all her default costumes with the exception of her default in DOA 6.

* AbsoluteCleavage: Some of her outfits result in this.

* CoolOldGuy: Bad enough to go after Tengu to take its nose, for the sake of [[IllGirl his granddaughter]].

* IllGirl: He entered the second ''DOA'' tournament to obtain money to pay for his granddaughter's medical bills, but defeating the Tengu sees him removing Tengu's nose, which was said to be a magical cure-all.

* IconicSequelCharacter: Ayane was not part of the original roster that debuted in 1996 with the Arcade release for the first ''Dead or Alive'', she debuted in 1998 on the UsefulNotes/PlayStation home release as a secret character. In the same year, ''Creator/{{Tecmo}}'' had already unveiled to the public that ''Dead or Alive 2'' was in the works with a scheduled release for the following year in 1999 on Arcades; Ayane was there to promote ''[=DOA2=]'' and it worked wonders, as the series went on Ayane became an extremely popular character and one of the faces in the franchise, one cannot imagine ''Dead or Alive'' without Ayane now.

* HeroicBastard: Needless to say Raidou and Ayame didn't [[SarcasmMode upgrade their relationship]] any further.

* NiceHat: Some of her costumes give her these, although considering how {{Stripperiffic}} some of the costumes can be some people might not care about the hat.

* ChildProdigy: At her age, she's already participating in a world-class fighting tournament. At 14, she was giving 'Elite Super Ninja' Ryu tips on how to be a ninja. Remember those kunai with the [[EverythingsBetterWithSpinning spinny]] purple flowers? Those were hers. She's not far behind Kasumi and that's saying a ''lot''. Her mastery of ninpo is second only to Ryu Hayabusa. Also overlaps with:

* EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: More than half of her move set is based on this. You can't help wondering how she doesn't get dizzy after 10 seconds.

* BruceLeeClone: Jann Lee is notorious for deliberately being one, as he is a fan of The Dragon himself.

* [[BigBrotherInstinct Big Sister Instinct]]: Inverted to more like [[BerserkButton Little Sister Instinct]]. She's the one that gets to Raidou when Hayate falls into a coma from an attack. Raidou does not survive. Appears to be developing this for her true baby sister Ayane in more recent games.

* DisproportionateRetribution: She is ''not'' impressed with Eliot's tendency to hesitate in ''Dimensions'', even going so far as to ''slap'' him for it and suggest he's being a baby. Hayate calls her out for being less than mature herself, but Eliot treating the whole thing like a successful BrightSlap is what really throws her off.

* {{Tsundere}}: Type A whenever she's around Eliot; ''Dimensions'' introduced a new, defensive aspect to her when she couldn't figure out how to deal with his positive response to her abuse ([[ItMakesSenseInContext long story short]]: Ayane accidentally gave him a BrightSlap when she thought she was giving him a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech). It shows up again when they meet in ''[=DOA5=]'', two years later and she gets a first-hand taste of his improved abilities.
