History Characters / ChalkZone

* FromNobodyToNightmare: Starts off as a generic reporter who was relatively harmless. Come Indescent Exposure, and she's suddenly upgraded into a cunning and dangerous woman who came very close to exposing [=ChalkZone=]. She harasses Rudy and Penny, stalked them for months to get information, and even kidnapped Snap at one point.
* KnightOfCerebus: Several villains, both from [=ChalkZone=] and from the real world, have some funny or redeeming qualities. Terry...not so much.
* StalkerWithoutACrush: It's revealed in "Snap Vs. Boorat" that she has been constantly stalking Rudy and Penny for [=ChalkZone=]-related information. [[EvenEvilHasStandards Even Vinnie was unsettled by this]].

A greedy business man who discovers [=ChalkZone=] after Rudy forgets to close the portal. He wants to create a theme park in that world to get rich.

* WouldHurtAChild: While he doesn't actually do anything to Rudy, in Follow The Bouncing Bag, his comment of making Rudy tell him how to get into [=ChalkZone=] combined with his body posture seem to hint that he's willing to use force against a child to get what he wants.

!! Bathtub Granny

One of Rudy's oldest chalk drawings. As her name suggests, she's an old woman who spends most of her time in the bathtub.

* BarbieDollAnatomy: Whenever her torso is at a level where it isn't obscured by the bathwater, she is clearly shown to be flat-chested and nipple-less.
* DeadpanSnarker: Frequently makes cutting remarks about Rudy and friends unintentionally inconveniencing her.
* ModestyTowel: She tends to wrap herself in a towel whenever she has to leave her bathtub.
* NakedPeopleAreFunny: The main joke about her is that since she's constantly taking a bath, she's always naked.

A sentient recycling bin who is very eccentric.

* CollectorOfTheStrange: He collects assignments that Mr. Wilter erased from the chalkboard.
* SignatureMove: He can throw up a bunch of marbles and cause people to trip on them: which he refers to as his "signature move".
* TheUnintelligible: He speaks in "trash talk", which is mostly complete gibberish.

!! Butch Biceps

A biker dude with a nasty demeanor.

* AlliterativeName: His first and last names both start with B.
* DumbMuscle: He's tough as nails, but really stupid.
* FallingIntoJail: His debut in "Rudy's Date" ends with him being flung into prison after Penny reclaims her formula for perpetual motion.

!! Zibble and Blotz

Chalk drawings of a boy and a girl drawn by Mr. Wilter when he was a kid.

* OurGhostsAreDifferent: They were smudges, a kind of Zoner created when a chalk drawing isn't completely erased. They become whole after Rudy and Penny finish erasing the rest of them on the other side of Mr. Wilter's bedroom wall.

!! The Doofi

Unflattering caricatures of Rudy and Penny that Reggie Bullnerd drew on the chalkboard who came to life in [=ChalkZone=] after Mr. Wilter erased them.

* TheDitz: True to their designation as "Doofi", they are both idiots.
* {{Gonk}}: They look uglier than their real counterparts because of their exaggerated facial features.
* OddballDoppelganger: They're essentially bizarre copies of the real Rudy and Penny.

* BroughtToYouByTheLetterS: He has a G on his chest.
* TheCape: He's the standard superhero with good intentions who's always out to right every wrong he must face.
* {{Expy}}: Is very obviously based on Franchise/{{Superman}}.
* FlyingBrick: He's a powerhouse capable of flight.

!! Major Brand

A supervillain who frequently clashes with Generic Man.

* KickTheDog: Her second appearance has her make a giant baby cry by stealing his pacifier, an action that clearly serves no purpose other than to show how spiteful and cruel she's willing to be.
* OhCrap: She completely freaks out when she realizes that her powers do nothing against Snap.
* PowerNullifier: Her sponge vision disables other people's super powers.
* PunnyName: Her name is a play on the term "major brand" and the fact that she's a military-themed villain.
* VillainousGlutton: She doesn't look the part, but her second appearance does have her show considerable glee in stealing all the pies from the Stick Figure Bakery.

!! Falling Rock

A walking pile of stone who accompanied Major Brand in her second appearance.

* LivingStatue: He is made of stone after all.

A chalk drawing of a rat with a poofy hairdo created by Vinnie Raton and Terry Bouffant in an attempt to get Rudy's Magic Chalk.

* AmbiguousGender: It is difficult to tell whether [=BooRat=] is male or female.
* AndIMustScream: Ends up immobilized after Snap sprays them with a fixative.
* EvilRedhead: Shares Terry's red hair as well as her nasty disposition.
* VoiceOfTheLegion: They are voiced by two voice actors speaking simultaneously.
* YouDirtyRat: Is an anthropomorphic rat and evil.

A superhero-like Zoner created by Rudy when he was eight years old. When Rudy entered [=ChalkZone=], he discovered Snap and the two have gone on adventures as close friends. There are times when Snap entered the real word, either on purpose, or dragged there by being kidnapped.

The long-lost king of [=ChalkZone=], who only appeared in the two-part episode "The Big Blow-Up".

One of [=ChalkZone=]'s oldest residents, Rudy, Penny, and Snap needed his help to cure the epidemic of Balloonemia in "The Big Blow-Up".

* VocalEvolution: His voice sounds more like {lWesternAnimation/{{Pete}} in the episodes after his debut, whereas he sounded more like [[WesternAnimation/CatDog Cat]] in his debut episode.

The main protagonist of the show. In the original ''Oh Yeah! Cartoons'' shorts, he was eight years old when he first discovered [=ChalkZone=] by finding a piece of magic chalk in his classroom. Come the show, he is now ten years old, and continues to have adventures in [=ChalkZone=].

* ArtAttacker: His main weapon is a piece of magic chalk, which can bring whatever he draws to life.
* BadassAdorable: He's only a kid, but his magic chalk enables him to accomplish many heroic feats.

* FaceHeelTurn: In "Chalk Queen", Skrawl captures her and convinces her to join forces with him, as since Rudy didn't help her with her homework, they both have a bone to pick with him. (That, and Skrawl threatened to [[ADogAteMyHomework feed her homework to a dog.]]) [[spoiler:[[FakeDefector It was all just a ruse to get Skrawl to trust her enough to give her access to the magic chalk and help Rudy defeat him.]]]]

* PetTheDog: [[spoiler: Surprisingly enough, a FreezeFrameBonus near the end of the music video "Let's Go Wandering" has him waving goodbye to the [=ChalkZone=] gang, rather than attacking them like he usually does. His sad face is what sells it.]]

* VillainSong: 'Skrawl's Song' and it's reprises.
* VocalEvolution: His voice sounds more like {{WesternAnimation/Pete}} in the episodes after his debut, whereas he sounded more like [[WesternAnimation/{{Catdog}} Cat]] in his debut episode.

A race of futuristic robots obsessed with collecting futuristic devices. This includes Rudy's "instant matter materializer", aka his magic chalk.

* CryoPrison: Craniac 1, 2 and 3 are all frozen solid when they are deemed "outdated".

* InsistentTerminology: Craniac 3 insists on calling Rudy's magic chalk an "instant matter materializer". Same goes for Craniac 4 in Future Zone, but in Double Trouble he just calls it "chalk", dropping this trope.

* TheBigGuy: He is huge and very strong.
* {{Cyclops}}: He used to be a one-eyed giant named "Cyclops" before Rudy gave him another eye.
* GentleGiant: He towers above Rudy and friends, but he's always happy to see them.
* HeelFaceTurn: In his first appearance in a Oh Yeah! Cartoons short, he's an antagonist who tries to thwart Rudy and Snap's attempt to acquire more magic chalk. After Rudy defeats him and gives him a second eye, he warms up to him and becomes an ally.
* ManInAKilt: He wears a kilt. Justified because he was originally drawn by a Scottish child.
* MentorArchetype: He informs Rudy about his responsibility with the magic chalk.
* MeaningfulRename: He used to be named Cyclops, (or Cy for short), but after Rudy gave him a second eye, the name was no longer accurate, and was changed to Bi-clops.
* OnlySaneMan: The most level-headed denizen of [=ChalkZone=].
* OurGiantsAreBigger: A large cone-shaped being with white skin and his eyes are stacked on each other.

* AFateWorseThanDeath: When Barney detaches his parts in self defense against a praying mantis, he is reduced to a babbling moron, unable to think clearly enough to defend himself. If it weren't for Rudy, Penny, and Snap being present to help him, he would have stayed like that forever, if one of the predatory zoners living in the area didn't eventually get him.
* HatesBeingTouched: When Rudy attempts to look up information, Barney is shown to be quite sensitive to being poked and prodded like that. This could contribute to why he prefers being alone.
* TheHermit: He lives alone in a dangerous forest and prefers it that way.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: He and King Mumbo Jumbo were the best of friends. [[spoiler: He is even overjoyed to see that he is still alive.]]
* IntelligenceEqualsIsolation: Because he's a living encyclopedia, he has information on virtually everything in [=ChalkZone=], but he prefers to be left alone because he's been annoyed by how often people turn to him for help.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While not sociable, he does help Rudy and his friends put an end to the spreading of Balloonemia and also had a close friendship with King Mumbo Jumbo, even crying when his [[spoiler: assumed]] death was brought up.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: He was the one who helped King Mumbo Jumbo seal himself away with the Inflatermaus swarm for 300 years. When it was believed that King Mumbo Jumbo died in the interim, Barney actually blames himself for his close friend's supposed death. [[spoiler:Fortunately, it turns out that the king only went into hibernation until a chalk-wielder could help him.]]
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: He has existed for at least 300 years.

* SealedEvilInADuel: He and the Inflatermaus swarm were trapped inside a temple for 300 years until Rudy mistakenly let the Inflatermaus swarm escape and subsequently found King Mumbo Jumbo [[spoiler:alive and well.]]

* DisproportionateRetribution: In his first appearance, he tried to kill Rudy for stealing the woman he loved (it was actually a jill-o-lantern that Rudy made for his school's jack-o-lantern contest). In his second appearance, he threatens to bury Rudy alive unless he draws a new bride even though his drawing arm is broken and he swore to never use his magic chalk to draw a living thing unless in the most dire of circumstances.

* SignatureMove: He can throw up a bunch of marbles and cause people to trip on them: which he refers to as his "signature move".

The first drawing by Rudy that became an inhabitant of [=ChalkZone=].

* AmbiguousDisorder: His behavior is similar to a child with special needs.
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: Inverted. Since Rudy drew him before he created Snap, he is technically Snap's older brother figure, but he is clearly shown to be more childlike and naive and his antics sometimes get on Snap's nerves.
* AmbiguouslyRelated: While Snap and Blocky can be seen acting somewhat like siblings, they have no canonical familial relationship, shown when Snap says he doesn't have any known family members in the episode "Family Von Snap".

* PaperPeople: In the episode "Super hero Snap II", Blocky is seen to be completely 2-D all the time, and this is used as a plot device.
* KindheartedSimpleton: He's stupid, but so so sweet. He's endlessly cheerful and helpful but really, really dumb.
* {{Cephalothorax}}: He's a square with arms and legs as well as a face.
* TheDitz: He is not very bright.
* SimpletonVoice: He has a goofy voice indicating his idiocy.

* GoKartingWithBowser: Despite being troublesome to the 'zoners in other episodes, in Insect Aside, Stinky witch uses a spell to help Snap and Rapsheeba.

* BlindingBangs: His eyes are covered up by his hair.

** "This is unacceptable!" (Rather ironic considering a [[WesternAnimation/AdventureTime future role]] Hynden would later work on). The episode Taffy hints that she apparently gets it from her mother.

* EarlyInstallmentCharacterDesignDifference: The first two ''WesternAnimation/OhYeahCartoons'' shorts depicted him with a rounder head, a smaller nose, more prominent cheeks and a clear distinction between his head and his neck in addition to wearing a long-sleeve shirt.

* Joisey: Speaks in a New Jersey accent.

* {{Meganekko}}: She wears glasses.

* BaldWoman: On two occasions, she's lost her hair after falling victim to a Wiggie from [=ChalkZone=]. She's even seen bald in one of the song segments.

** "School of Destruction". Even before he threw a tantrum after being told he won't be seeing the titular rock band (due to his grades not improving), he showed an attitude to his mother while he was listening to them. Then, he decides to use [=ChalkZone=] to sneak his way into the band, which causes it to nearly exposed by them. While his mother could have at least heard him out, this is straight-up OutOfCharacter for Rudy.

* CreateYourOwnVillain: Subverted. Although Rudy didn't really draw him, Rudy knew about [=ChalkZone=] when he erased Skrawl. The subversion is in play because Rudy had no reason to think he'd become evil or seek revenge.

The most recurring antagonist on the show. Skrawl was originally going to be a birthday gift by Rudy to a kid at a birthday party, but Reggie Bullnerd and his friends ruined it, and Rudy erased him into [=ChalkZone=]. Ever since then, Skrawl has blamed Rudy for his grotesque appearance, and constantly schemes to bring him down.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: For some reason, his debut episode is titled "The Skrawl".

* EvilIsBigger: Skrawl is much bigger than Rudy Tabootie and most other 'zoners. He's approximately 10 feet tall.
