* AbsurdlyPowerfulStudentCouncil: Double it considering they're elementary school kids, and multiply it some more with unlimited financial resources to go with a boatload of talents. They're entirely benevolent with a HundredPercentAdorationRating, though.

* SenpaiKohai: Started like this with Suoh. Nokoru actually tries to invoke this even more and pass Suoh off as simply a random kouhai [[spoiler:to their kidnapper]], for safety's sake. Nobody believes him, but he is threatened as "your kouhai" for the rest of the time.

* SenpaiKohai: "Takamura-senpai" for Akira. Started as "Takamura" for Nokoru's "Imonoyama-senpai". He [[spoiler:threatens a bunch of people trying to find "Senpai" when they're kidnapped]] at the time.

* SenpaiKohai: He's "Ijyuin" to Suoh's "Takamura-senpai".

* LoveYouAndEverybody: How he deals with his hordes of female admirers.

* MegaTwinTails: She has incredibly long twin tails.

* SenpaiKouhai: "Takamura-senpai" for Akira. Started as "Takamura" for Nokoru's "Imonoyama-senpai". He [[spoiler:threatens a bunch of people trying to find "Senpai" when they're kidnapped]] at the time.

* SenpaiKouhai: He's "Ijyuin" to Suoh's "Takamura-senpai".

* TakingTheBullet: For [[spoiler:Suoh, three years ago. Ironically, this led to Suoh [[IWillDefinitelyProtectYou vowing to do exactly this for him]]]].

* RapunzelHair: Her hair is really long, even when tied, and artworks often exaggerate it even more.

* OnlyFriend: Such was originally this to him.

* AdvertisedExtra: Considering she appears in the anime's opening almost as much as the main characters themselves, you'd be forgiven for thinking she is much more relevant to thr series than she really is.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: And his is blue.

* HeavilyAdvertisedExtra: Considering she appears in the anime's opening almost as much as the main characters themselves, you'd be forgiven for thinking she is much more relevant to thr series than she really is.

* AdaptationDyeJob: His hair color in the manga varies, as colored artworks go between dark brown (better seen next to the black-haired Nagisa) and solid black. In the anime, it's the latter.

* FighterMageThief: Nokoru (The Mage -- he has all the resources while not being the least physical of the trio, and even claims to be a sorcerer in the first episode of the anime), Suoh (The Fighter - literally) and Akira (The Thief - [[Manga/ManOfManyFaces literally too]]).

* BadassNormal: As opposed to other CLAMP heroes who have supernatural powers, advanced technology and/or fancy gadgets, superhuman attributes or a combination of the above, Suoh is just a regular human who relies on unarmed martial arts moves. Granted, he's a black belt in several styles and frequently wins first place in tournaments, even his physical strength is shown quite inferior compared to enemy mooks (though he's skilled enough to quickly overcome them in unarmed combat).

* AdaptationDyeJob: Hi hair color in the manga is diffuse, as colored artworks dances between dark brown (better seen next to the black-haired Nagisa) and solid black. In the anime, it's the latter.

* RedHerring: The series's opening pictures her outright as the BigBad of the series, but aside from some quirks, she is a relatively benevolent figure.

* FighterMageThief: Nokoru (The Mage -- he claims to be a sorcerer in the first episode of the anime), Suoh (The Fighter - literally) and Akira (The Thief - [[Manga/ManOfManyFaces literally too]]).
* FreudianTrio: The fiercely loyal and by-the-book Suoh is the Superego, the impulsive, distractible, and melodramatic Nokoru is the Id, and Akira makes the calming middle ground between them - sometimes siding with one, sometimes the other - as the Ego.

* BadassNormal: As opposed to other CLAMP heroes who have supernatural powers, advanced technology and/or fancy gadgets, superhuman attributes or a combination of the above, Suoh is just a regular human who relies on unarmed martial arts moves. Granted, he's a black belt in several style and frequently wins first place in tournaments, even his physical strength is shown quite inferior compared to enemy mooks (though he's skilled enough to quickly overcome them in unarmed combat).

* AdaptationalBadass: Zig-zagged. In the anime he fights and easily defeats a bunch of bodyguards, while in the manga he abstains from taking part in the fight and leaves it to Suoh. On the other hand, the manga shows him casually taking part in a martial arts tournament and besting an adult judoka with traditional kung fu, which is omitted in the anime.

* [[AdaptationalNiceGuy Adaptational Nice Girl]]: Among the scenes from the ''Man of 20 Faces'' manga included in the anime, the ones in which she throws rather violent tantrums in her room are removed. She is also a bit sweeter and more composed in her tsun moments towards Akira.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: She falls in love with [[Manga/ManOfManyFaces 20 Faces]] not because [[AllGirlsWantBadBoys he was a charming gentleman thief assuring her she had nothing to fear when he was broke in to her room while hiding from the authorities]] (a matter she's quick to {{Lampshade}}), but because he consoles Utako over her recent heartbreak, shares some of his own personal wisdom on love, and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking gave her chocolate candies.]]

Due to his family's enormous wealth and connections, not to mention his own skills at things like physics and computers, he was a target for repeated kidnapping attempts; distancing himself from people for their own safety as well. Then he unexpectedly took a shine to the new kid a grade lower [[spoiler:who just so happened to be a ninja]]... Suoh and Akira are his true friends not only for friendship's sake, but because they can handle themselves.

* StudentCouncilPresident: Elementary school division of course, but still. Noteworthy in that he's been doing it ever since the 4th grade.

* {{Catchphrase}}: So long as the sentence involves calling out Nokoru and the word 'paperwork', the other words are incidental.

* IWillDefinitelyProtectYou: A variant, as part of his vow to Nokoru when he chose him. He said ''"I will always protect you"'', phrased it politely, and did it when they were out of danger. He meant it as this, though.
