Alien Lunch is a disambig now, and I don't think any of those examples fit the listed tropes.

* AlienLunch:
** Ledo is squicked when offered salted fish, meant to be token of friendship, by Amy. He finds the idea of consuming animal carcasses disgusting. Considering that he has been eating [[FutureFoodIsArtificial some kind of manufactured nutrient slurry]] all his life, it's a normal reaction. However, he manages to find it enjoyable (or at least tolerable) once he actually eats it.
** The "animal carcass" is back for episode 3, this time a chicken. Thankfully, this time it's served as BBQ.
** He is freaked out by the special dinner Pinion orders for him in episode 6, which turns out to be plain old octopus. [[spoiler:He assumes it's the Hideauze, and while Bellows and Pinion think he's overreacting, at the end of the episode Chamber confirms a Hideauze presence in the water, which does indeed look squid-like.]]

** Chamber's first "battle" on Earth against pirates can be summed up as this. He destroys three pirate barges, several skiffs, a couple submarines, and scores of heavily-armed gunmen in [[UpToEleven roughly fifteen seconds with no collateral loss of life at all]].

* TheNeedsOfTheMany: Like many of Creator/GenUrobuchi's works, ''Gargantia on the Verdurant Planet'' [[{{deconstruction}} deconstruct]] utilitarianism in regards to the Galactic Alliance. [[spoiler:In particular, Galactic Alliance's concern about humanity's survival of their existence means individual sacrifices needed to be made (from terminating the sick and weak to eliminating human emotions) in order to defeat the Hideauze (who are actually genetically modified humans) and defending humanity's existence. In many stories, some characters enter the story, serve their role, and move on without any fanfare. If they have served their purpose and exit the story, then it's not a What Happened To The Mouse situation just because there isn't some final "where are they now" information given. This trope is for cases where a character simply disappears without reason or acknowledgment by the rest of the cast. In this case, Ledo being teleported to Earth is a reasonable explanation for the characters leaving the story.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: After the first episode, the Alliance/Hideauze conflict is never touched upon again, making it unclear if either side won or if they are still fighting. It's completely irrelevant -- and [[ForeverWar that irrelevance is the entire point]]. This is touched on ''Meguru Kōro, Haruka'' -- Ledo is still worried about the war going on space, and he's also worried about the possibility of it finding its way to Earth.

* NotSoDifferent: Humans and Hideauze. While the Galactic Alliance and Hideauze are shown to be in a situation of all-out war with one another, on Earth, [[spoiler:humans and Evolvers both seem to subsist with the idea of cohabitation if not complete cooperation. This mirror image parallel showcases that that the Hideauze/Evolvers are human-like in their thinking, understandable in their being transhuman. (It still hasn't been clarified whether the current Evolvers on Earth are as unaware as the current humans of their origins, but if the same holds true with the Hideauze, i.e. space Evolvers, it would be another mirror image parallel, since Ledo as a ChildSoldier had no idea of the extent of the knowledge the Galactic Alliance had been depriving its soldiers and citizens of.)]] Also, the [[spoiler:original Evolvers were obsessed with forcing evolution to turn humans into the perfect life form]], while the Alliance practices extreme SocialDarwinist policies to breed the perfect soldiers.

* DeliberateValuesDissonance: Much of the first half of the series revolves around the disconnect between Ledo, a ChildSoldier from a hyper militarized society, and Gargantia, a fleet of merchants and scavengers with values similar to modern Earth. A good example occurs in the first episode, where Kugel volunteers his life to save Ledo. It's a classic case of an older leader choosing to die because his younger subordinate has his whole life ahead of him, but the Alliance values system means his reasoning is that Ledo could ultimately kill more enemies than him.
