* ''Anime/DarkerThanBlack'' has one with April which is a combination of this, CaptainErsatz, and {{Expy}}. The character's Japanese voice actress dubs a lot of Halle Berry's roles, including that of Storm in ''Film/XMen''. The character in the anime is a black woman with weather-control powers.

** For the English dub, it's not the first time Creator/BrycePapenbrook has played [[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening a young hero surrounded by bloodshed.]] [[note]] Henry [[/note]]

* Episode 9 of ''Manga/SgtFrog'' contains an {{Homage}} to episode 24 of ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'' where Mutsumi descends into the Keroro Platoon's base in the same way Kaworu (who was also voiced by AkiraIshida) descended into the [=NERV=] headquarters, complete with the same background music.

* In chapter 56 of Manga/{{Watamote}}, Tomoko is late to school because she got caught up in an episode of MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic. The only pony shown on screen is Rainbow Dash, whose Japanese Dub actress also voiced Tomoko in the ''Watamote'''s anime adaptation.

** Episodes 14 and 15 contain one ''Anime/DragonballZ'' shout out each in the dub (but not in the original Japanese version), with [[Creator/ChristopherSabat Giroro]] doing the referencing.

* In ''LightNovel/PapaNoIukotoOKikinasai'', Junji Majima plays Shuntarou Sako, who demonstrates [[{{Lolicon}} inappropriate]] attraction (for which he is [[PaperFanOfDoom punished]] [[UsefulNotes/TheHaysCode in-show]] and reviled by the audience, because [[AndThatsTerrible it's a bad thing)]] for Miu Takanashi, played by Creator/EriKitamura. And in what likely isn't a coincidence, Kitamura had earlier played a FilleFatale in a certain other show who was involved in a TeacherStudentRomance with Majima's character.

* In ''LightNovel/InfiniteStratos'', [[Creator/KoukiUchiyama Ichika's]] duel against Rin has him posing and charging similar to Gundam Unicorn, a reference to the VA's role as Barnagher Links.

** And there's a wonderful in-joke in episode 12, where at Comiket, characters played by [[Creator/TomokazuSugita Tomokazu]] "[[LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya Kyon]]" [[Creator/TomokazuSugita Sugita]] and [[Creator/TomokazuSeki Tomokazu]] "[[LightNovel/FullMetalPanic Sousuke]]" [[Creator/TomokazuSeki Seki]] manage to fight a MundaneMadeAwesome battle to sell a customer unsold merchandise... of their own respective characters. (ThatOtherWiki claims that the two [=VAs=] have a rivalry, of sorts. That would explain the battle.)

* ''Anime/EarthDefenderMaoChan'' includes a character (Kagome Mishima) who looks identical to Creator/KenAkamatsu's previous and better-known series ''Manga/LoveHina'''s Naru Narusegawa; another character (Sylvia) is voiced by Naru's VA Creator/YuiHorie. At one point, the characters visit a hot springs resort which is clearly the one from Love Hina - they even describe it as "the hot-springs which magically makes people get in to Tokyo U!" It's inhabited by another character looking identical to Naru, and when Kagome introduces herself to the Naru-alike and asks her name, another character says "No! Don't answer that!" In the English dub, Naru and Kagome have the same English voice-actress.

** Don't forget: anytime any guest [=VAs=] turn up in ''Lucky Star,'' it's almost certain that the next episode preview will be voice-overed by whatever character they're famous for. Example: Kyon and Yuki previewing episode 17, or the cast of ''Manga/SgtFrog'' previewing episode 13, after their [=VAs=] turned up in the anime, In the English dub of that same episode, VicMignogna apparently reprised his role as Keroro (and is the only ADV cast member from the show to do so; he couldn't keep his role in the Funimation dub).

* In the first episode of ''Manga/FushigiYuugi'', Miaka gives an InTheNameOfTheMoon speech to a group of street thugs attacking her: Miaka's voice actress, Creator/KaeAraki, played Manga/SailorMoon for several episodes while her regular voice actress was ill, and also played Chibiusa on the same series.

*** Her character in Anime/GuiltyCrown has feelings for a boy played by YuukiKaji[[note]] Ambiguous in canon, but official parodies portray Annie as having feelings for Eren[[/note]], and likewise covers herself in crystal at one point.

* Creator/MarinaInoue provides the voice for Rei Miyamoto of ''Manga/HighschoolOfTheDead''. Her most famous role is Yoko Littner of ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann''. These two girls have [[SniperRifle many]], [[GirlyBruiser many]], [[RedheadedHero many]], [[MsFanservice many]], [[TheLancer many]], [[PluckyGirl many]] traits in common.

* ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Gundam 00]]'' also does this in season 2 by revealing that Ribbons Almark was the first Gundam Meister having been the one to operate the 0 Gundam his voice actor was the same as Amuro Ray from first gundam while the 0 Gundam was based on the RX-78-2 Gundam from that series the in-joke is lost in the US dub. Creator/BradSwaile, who voiced Amuro in the English dub of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'' was already voicing Setsuna.

* In ''OkamiSan'', the "maid" Otsuu is voiced by AyakoKawasumi, voice of the android maid Mahoro in ''{{Manga/Mahoromatic}}''. In one episode, Otsuu encounters a butler who, at the end of the conversation says he has one last question. He begins Mahoro's most famous catchphrase, and Otsuu finishes immediately. The narrator proceeds to wonder whether they can legally do this.

* ''Anime/SoraOKakeruShoujo'' has a character (sentient AI, same thing) voiced by Creator/JunFukuyama pulling everything from his time as [[Franchise/CodeGeass Lelouch]] to create a madman in a robot body. The manga practically confirms this as he says "if I was human, I'd look like this" with a shot of Lelouch.

** A villain, Karasu, has a power-up which turns his hair gold, directly referencing [[DragonBall Super Saiyans]]. Both his [[Creator/RyoHorikawa Japanese]] and [[Creator/KyleHebert English]] voice actors have voiced Super Saiyans (Vegeta and Gohan respectively).

** All of the SOS Brigade members' voice actors have appeared in ''Anime/LuckyStar'' at one point or the other. Aside from the obvious Creator/AyaHirano (Konata/Haruhi), Creator/MinoriChihara (Minami/Nagato), we have Creator/DaisukeOno (Koizumi) as himself in one [[ShowWithinAShow Lucky Channel]], Creator/TomokazuSugita as mentioned above, and YukoGoto (Mikuru Asahina) as a yakuza-like muscular version of her real life self. The dub actors for the Brigade are also present in the Lucky Star dub.

* ''SoraWoKakeruShoujo'' has a character (sentient AI, same thing) voiced by Creator/JunFukuyama pulling everything from his time as [[CodeGeass Lelouch]] to create a madman in a robot body. The manga practically confirms this as he says "if I was human, I'd look like this" with a shot of Lelouch.

* Asuma Sarutobi from ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'' often says "yare yare daze" and "ora ora" (moreso in the PS2 Naruto games). While these phrases are used often in other anime, in this case it's a reference to Asuma's seiyuu Creator/JurotaKosugi's previous role as Jotaro Kujo in the OVA adaptation of ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure''.

* ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikerS'' has the seemingly random, minor ShipTease between Vice and Teana. Seemingly random, unless if you know who their voice actors are. The two were being played by Creator/YuuichiNakamura and Creator/MaiNakahara, aka, [[OfficialCouple Tomoya and Nagisa]] of the ''VisualNovel/{{Clannad}}'' [[TheAnimeOfTheGame anime]], which was going to begin on the week after ''[=StrikerS=]'' ends.

* In episode 20 of ''Anime/DigimonSavers'', the dub has Marcus (voiced by Creator/QuintonFlynn) say that [[KingdomHearts "I've got it memorized"]].
