So when you talk to Bengal Savauge, he tells you that the Eartheater (a sidequest boss) is weak to lightning/wind. The truth is, it resists that element and is actually weak to earth. This most likely means that either he and/or the dev(s) are lying/trolling the player. There's also the possibility that the boss was originally to eb weak to wind, but its main weakness and resistance were swapped and Bengal's message wasn't changed accordingly. Or maybe the latter happened, but an instance of Throw It In! where Bengal is made to lie (even if unknowingly)...
TL;DR, Bengal feeds you false information about a boss and might not know about it. What trope(s) involve(s) accidental/unknowing lying, or the closest thing thereof?
I like to believe the brighter side of things. :)
(and that's a Temple of the Monkey God on the Glacier mission in BMC)
