Not sure about in-series, but interviews with the actress/production crew state that Dawn is Latina. Example One
, Example Two (edit: I have no idea why the links are coming up weird). All three actors of the family are also of Latinx background, and Aunt Esme is a curandera which Google defines as "a traditional native healer/shaman found in Latin America, the United States and Southern Europe."
