How exactly are FFXIII and FFX's character growth systems examples of Stat Grinding? If anything, they don't seem to have that same Saga like stat-growth (do something multiple times and it grows), nor do they focus growth on a particular skill (EV Points in Pokémon).
The Other Wiki calls them cash-in advancement/growth systems, much like Devil May Cry and God Of War, as you have the option to spend points on upgrades and new skills.
