Halo: Reach. There are about 4 or 5 "game breakers" listed... You can't have 4 or 5 "only option" options.
The BR and M 6 D have all been gamebreakers. Combined with the P.Pistol, they are nigh invincible in the hands of the truly skilled.
If Reach has a Shotgun that can hit as far as an AR, then it isn't all that useless against the DMR/Nerlfe or even Pistol now is it?... or even an AR down at the end of a medium hallway. .... The Focus Rifle and Plasma Launchers are powerweapons and there are alternatives/counters to using them. ie the Laser, Sniper or Rockets.... which of course are powerweapons.
More about Halo, specifically 'Halo: Combat Evolved'
OI won't comment on Halo Two or Reach, but as a long time player of 'Halo: Combat Evolved', I sorta laughed when I saw CE's plasma pistol here. Yes, a fully charged blast from a plasma pistol will remove your shields in one hit. However, you will never hit anyone with such a shot. The projectiles from a plasma pistol are slow-moving large glowing orbs, and they don't home in very effectively. They also take a while to fully charge, so once you get close enough to hit someone with a full-charged shot, you are in a firefight with an all-or-nothing attempt at victory. The only way you will ever hit someone with a full-charged plasma pistol is if you get behind them, at which point an instant-kill assassination would be a much better option. It's rapid fire is reasonable, but it's outclassed by the plasma rifle unless you have a very twitchy trigger finger; you're probably looking at questionably-legal controller modifications if you're doing this enough to break the game. Given the amount of exagguration on the page, I suspect the same is true in later Halo games, but I'm willing to be wrong.
As for Halo: Combat Evolved's pistol, I do not deny that it's possibly the most powerful weapon in the game, but the claim that it instant kills on headshots... is highly exaggurated. Sure, if you play with 50% health and shields, it will, but that's all. I'm not truly convinced it's a broken weapon in multiplayer — on Blood Gultch, it's outclassed by the sniper, and in corridor situations, it's outclassed by the shotgun. However, I won't contend the pistol's inclusion on the list particularly fiercly, my main concern is cutting out the hyperbole in the article.
