The thing is, Hitler was just there to make the possibility of the bad guys winning more threatening. He could be relatively easily replaced by another dictator even a fictionous one, or removed entirely, and the plot of the movies wouldn\'t really change. Indy would still try to stop the bad guys, and still would\'ve to go through the exact same challenges to get the artifact. Only difference is that it wouldn\'t be the nazis who\'re after him. Palpatine however is central to the plot of Star Wars as whole. Without him, there would be no conflct going on at all, he is the person responsible for the state the Galaxy is in, toppling his regime is the ultimate goal of the Rebels and he is behind every single imperial agent who will try to stop them. He just can\'t be detached from the story, even if he doesn\'t appear at all. Isn\'t that more BigBad than BiggerBad?
