I don\'t about Nasa, but I can give a 2nd hand account of the inaccuracy of the depiction of the Papal Library in Angels and Demons. My Art History professor in undergrad focused on Italian Renaissance and spent a year in Rome, during which she was given permission to look through and reference the documents there. Apparently there was 1 guy at the door, he told her not to hold any writing implements over the books, and then she was left to it. She wouldn\'t have even had any gloves if she hadn\'t brought some curator gloves with her. The books were stacked normally on shelves and it was all about as low tech as humanly possible, if I remember right the didn\'t even have a computer catalogue.
