Seems to me \\\"parodying a work before it comes out\\\" is (or can be) a specific \\\'\\\'type\\\'\\\' of ParodyFailure. Common with those crappy \\\'\\\'Epic Movie\\\'\\\' things where the moviemakers only had the trailers to go on.

I think the example could be rewritten for clarity - for people (like me) who never saw the episode, it\\\'s not very clear why, exactly, it is ParodyFailure.

(What I mean is, \\\"near-exact duplicate\\\" doesn\\\'t \\\'\\\'necessarily\\\'\\\' mean ParodyFailure. Indeed, you could argue that \\\"near-exact duplicate\\\" is required for \\\'\\\'good\\\'\\\' parody - the big question is how near and what the differences are, and whether they\\\'re funny.)
