If they didn\\\'t want the audience to view Marche as the story\\\'s villain, then they shouldn\\\'t have written a character who\\\'s main goal in the story is something that a large part of the audience views as nonsensical and mean-spirited. It\\\'s not their place to tell the audience that \\\"Marche was the sympathetic figure, the people who disagreed with him were morally wrong, end of story\\\". They could try, but it wouldn\\\'t make them correct.

It\\\'s the same with finding your own meaning to a story or character, or having your own rational theories about what happened in a particular scenario. (especially if what the author says doesn\\\'t make a lot of sense)
