...It\\\'s just that I for one feel that it\\\'s worth mentioning in this article (the YMMV portion)—even in a little bit of detail—just how #damned absurd# it is to be able to stop something like that, especially without any canonical indications of having such capability. In fact, if I\\\'m to understand, the more recent canon material indicates almost the complete opposite of this. To me, this is a very notable event that should be labeled under multiple tropes. Not to mention that it\\\'s an absolutely batshit crazy outlier, if you haven\\\'t picked up on that yet.

Because if it is, I think it might be useful to give people an idea of #just how ridiculous# this is, since most people don\\\'t really comprehend the scale of things like nuclear explosions. To be specific, I did a quick calculation on what it would take to raze the surface of half of the world, and it came out to be #~29.5 petatons#, which to put in relative terms is #~5.9 million times greater than# the total global nuclear stockpile (~5 gigatons). This is enough to destroy the surface of most of the continents and crater out the body of something the size of North America, rip up and liquify/vaporize/atomize much of the Earth\\\'s crust for tens of millions of square kilometers, semi-permanently disrupt the entire planetary structure of Earth, and completely wipe all life off the planet with a 360 degree kilometers-high wave of insanely hot Mach 10+ micro-debris, leaving the planet looking like a giant version of Mars.
