To the degree that MoR!Harry or canon!Hermione has an advantage due to 20th century First World education, it looks like a fairly common variant of [[HumansAreSpecial]]/[[HumanityIsSuperior]] (Muggles, in this case) where science is their unique power that elves/demons/wizards/etc. have never quite figured out, still bowing to the wisdom of their ancestors.
