I plan to do something of a clean up of all references to Athrun and Cagalli on this site in regards to them being \\\"Sunk\\\", which isn\\\'t true. In fact, there\\\'s been several Mitsuo Fukuda quotes where he has indicated that it was not his intent to have it seem like they\\\'re not still together.

For instance, in the audio commentary of Episode 39 of the HD Remaster, this is what he had to say about his intentions with the ring to begin with, as detailed by this series of articles by Seven Strawberry, where they have access to the Japanese materials.

Mitsuo Fukuda: To start, the act of giving a ring…I don’t really, and Morosawa [(the scriptwriter)] too, don’t like it. It seems like, you know, binding.
Another staff: Ah, you mean, something like men’s frustration/worry/insecurity (I couldn’t find a good English word here, so bear with my way of translation). Because of it, he gave the ring carelessly. Something like that?
Fukuda: Right. And then, like, tie the woman down. It’s…I mean…I don’t really like that about it. So his intention of giving the ring wasn’t good.
Fukuda: “Cagalli taking off the ring later caused the future for these two [(Athrun and Cagalli)] to appear again. Because if she kept holding the ring, you know, there wouldn’t be a happy future.”

I\\\'m not yet ready, because I feel I need more considering I\\\'m sure some people have tried to claim this doesn\\\'t mean anything, but figure it also might open the door for others to help as well.
