[[quoteblock]]To quote the Faux Action Girl page: \\\"She has a well-grounded reputation as a strong fighter in her field but always fails miserably in the line of battle.\\\" The character can be known in-universe as being powerful or dangerous, but in the story, she is constantly failing and in need of rescue. It doesn\\\'t matter how powerful she is; she can still qualify as a Faux Action Girl.[[/quoteblock]]

What I noticed today is that Chaotic removed it AGAIN (officially Administrivia/{{Edit War}}ring) and replacing it with IneffectualLoner.

I will state again: removing FauxActionGirl \\\'\\\'ignores the entire point here\\\'\\\'.

The entire purpose of the SLNCP trope is that she is \\\"awesome, but not awesome enough to overshadow the main character\\\". That basic principle is the entire \\\'\\\'apex\\\'\\\' upon which the trope turns. So, a common element for a SLNCP is that she is reputedly a strong fighter, but she gets defeated by any half-decent opponent or constantly needs the hero to rescue her.

The argument of \\\"Well if a character doesn\\\'t need help, then they\\\'re a MarySue\\\" is not only irrelevant here, but ridiculous. Commonly, the StockLightNovelHero IS a blatant GaryStu. The fact that the protagonist is usually smarter than everyone, better looking than everyone, stronger than everyone, more skilled than everyone, and has more broken powers than everyone, is one of the most recognizable traits of a SLNH. So yes, if he is one of those, but the FEMALE LEAD is the one who \\\'\\\'constantly needs to be saved or rescued\\\'\\\', then she is a FauxActionGirl. The entire point of the story is that she\\\'s always just a step behind the local Gary Stu because being equal to or better than him would ruin the WishFulfillment.

Adding IneffectualLoner here doesn\\\'t even work, because some cases aren\\\'t one. The very TropeCodifier, RiasGremory, isn\\\'t one. It\\\'s very common for a SLNCP to actually have lots of friends/allies, but because they\\\'re all weak (usually, much weaker than \\\'\\\'her\\\'\\\'), they\\\'re of no help when she really needs it. Thus, when she meets the protagonist, even if she already has a group of close allies or teammates, it\\\'s \\\'\\\'him\\\'\\\' that she \\\"truly needs\\\".
