On the subject of taking a position... it\'s quite noticeable that the other team-mates never, ever take a side in that particular argument. No-one does. The only subject that gets raised is the subject of Blake not being able to share her problems with her friends, which isn\'t relevant. The argument, from the audience perspective, is handled neutrally, as a way to give information to the audience about the back stories of both characters. Sun\'s petty crimes aren\'t the point of the debate, and to turn the point of the debate into that is shoehorning the trope.

If Weiss\'s point had been about Sun specifically being a \'degenerate\' and a \'rapscallion\', then perhaps the trope might be relevant. However, her point was predicated on her using Sun to represent the entire Faunus race (the implication that the entire Faunus race is just one step away from being terrorists). If you ignore that, you completely change what she and Blake were arguing about. I think the entry is a shoehorn at best.
