This is very much in keeping with his humanist philosophy and not against his prior or subsequent characterisation at all. I don\\\'t think any person with a moral compass would be comfortable with the idea of impersonating a god in order to hoodwink a less developed people, even with the best of intentions, and more religious people would even consider it blasphemous.
