Not in any I recall reading (and I read a lot of them as a kid) but it was also a long time ago, so I could be wrong. It's possible they were just making stuff up to sound smart, as kids do.
I considered that, or my memory is playing tricks on me. The thing is it's an unusually prescient guess for them to all be making. And I don't think I'm remembering it wrong. Then again some people make very prescient guesses.
Edited by jjjjWell, the film Revenge of the Sith is a little ambiguous about how exactly she dies. He does kill her, but indirectly. Anyway, I don't remember the question of how she dies being addressed at all in the EU or elsewhere before the film came out, but you may want to ask a Star Wars forum and see if someone there knows.
Edited by DeckardIf nothing else, maybe you can find something on Wookieepedia.

Look up Padme's character profile and check the media in which she has appeared. It's pretty thorough, so if such a book exists, it will most likely be listed.
Are there any novels in the now defunct Star Wars expanded universe, written before revenge of the sith, that state or strongly imply that Darth Vader killed Padme? The reason I ask this is that I distinctly remember around the time attack of the clones was released that kids on my bus would talk about star wars. And they'd say that Darth Vader killed his wife. When I asked how they knew that they'd say "read the books". Now my memory could be wrong, but I don't think it is.
