Wizard of Wor? It's from about that time, and it had very primitive voice synthesis.
First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.Unfortunately it wasn't Wizard of Wor, but thank you anyway, Bokhura Burnes. I should have mentioned the game was similar to that of Ikari Warriors, Commando or Mercs in terms of a birds eye view of the action, and sort of how your character interacted in the game.
I remember, for example, if a player(s) stopped moving for a small length of time, the game would begin "prompting" you to get a move on by lobbing grenades at your character to either kill you off, or to "motivate" you to continue forward. During these sequences, the "You Die" comment would be played as well, although nowhere near as frequently as during the final battle.
I also have extremely vague recollections of the final boss having mechanical arms which would pull walls closer to you (for some odd reason), or perhaps as a means of him traveling around (i.e. him pulling a track for him to traverse on). I can't remember anything else about it.
I don't know what game it is, but after some researching I managed to compile this list of games with similar gameplay to Ikari Warriors, you should check each one's ending out, it shouldn't be hard to find on Youtube:

Robotrekkie, many thanks! It was Heavy Barrel I was trying to think of! Your list was very helpful. Again, thank you!
You're welcome! Glad it was of help :)
There was an arcade game I used to play back in the mid 80's ('85-'87 ish) whose name I can no longer recall. It was a shooter game where one or two players could walk through the battle field. The view was also where the player would be looking down on the action going on. Of course, this sounds like it could be any number of games.
The thing which makes this game stand out from the rest was the final boss battle. During the final battle, the boss would just say "You die! You die!" over and over in a very deep and menacing voice. He wouldn't say anything else.
Does anyone know the title of this game? I can not recall too much of this game anymore. Any help would be appeciated.
