The vasectomy trope! It seems that in EVERY American sitcom there will be an episode about vasectomy, and it's ALWAYS the same storyline:
The female lead feels a bit sick and buys a pregnancy test kit. She and her husband anxiously await the result, they swear to each other that they will be happy if she is pregnant. It turns out that she's not and hubby and wifey start to dance and yell while the audience is laughing their asses off.
In the next scene (usually in bed) one of them starts talking about some "permament solution". Hubby wants that she should do something, but she's complaining, that a vasectomy is much easier.
Scene 3: Hubby is talking with his male buddies in a bar. Complains about how he will be "shooting with blank cartridges".
Scene 4: Usually after a conversation with a wise friend about how women have it muuuuuch harder in life, the hubby decides to "go blank".
Final scene: This varries, either hubby is finally doing it, or the couple sees some cute children and decides to wait.
