Bakery Burlesque Show?

This is a funny joke but is the Secret Bakery really closed on Monday? Seems like a high traffic day for coffee and baked goods.

There is a bakery near our San Francisco office that is closed on Monday and Tuesday and I get so upset every time I think about getting a pastry and can’t.

Baking is a pretty strenuous and time-consuming job. It's not too surprising that some high-end bakeries (and even not so high-end ones) might have irregular work weeks with at least one day off a week.

Everything you see in a bakery when you go in at 8 probably started being made around 3 if not sooner.

Bread is so important to Paris that in 1790 they passed a law requiring bakers to get approval from the government to go on vacations (half of the shops permitted in July, and half in August), and they only repealed it in 2015, after at least 20 years of actively updating and renewing it.

I remember back in my college days that it was a real struggle to get fresh doughnuts at the local bakery since one would have to go there around midnight. The crackling hot doughnuts were (almost always) worth it.

The closest Krispy Kreme has "Hot light hours" (when they claim they're making fresh donuts) from 6-10AM and 5:30-10PM. But they can do that, they're Krispy Kreme.

One up side is that we know Roko's Thing For Bread is still in tact despite her body surf, one down side is we know this.

I was never super fond of this gag to be entirely honest.

I just never found it super funny.

People have weird interests, that's just how it is. It isn't even much more weird than tea-sniffing thing.

If anything it seems like Roko's bread fetish is even stronger. Her new body apparently comes with enhanced sensory input making whatever it is about bread that gets her off more potent.

Yeah, she's probably overloading with the olfactory upgrade.

At yeast you can't say she doesn't stick to her buns.

But on a more serious note, is there no new page today?
