I've got to say, Takuto doesn't seem very trustworthy, sucking on apple juice like that.

I'm allergic to apples, so I know he's evil.

None may question my logic.

Health sure is versatile. It's possible to be both light-headed and dim-witted. At the same time, no less.

I’m calling it now.

Kasumi is evil, she is directly involved in those “wishes” mentioned in the trailer, and is working for Yaldabaoth. The wishes plot point being ripped directly from the Justice League episode “The Man Who Has Everything”.

Things that make me suspiscious of her:

1. Her phantom thief garb. Resembles the iconic female trickster archetype, the Femme Fatal (Ann is more like Cat Woman in her design).

2. Her code name. What nobility title is most associated with evil? Count/Countess. Who is most associated with those titles? Dracula/Bathory. Massive red flag.

3. Her persona. Cendrillon is a Cinderella reference (wishes). Connect to the Grail.

4. Laura Post being her English VA. She’s mostly known for her villains.

If Kasumi’s Arcana is Aeon, you can be certain she’s evil, just like P 4 G.

I mean, if it's just like P 4 G then she's not evil, she's just tied to the overall plot in some way.

Which, yeah, probably.

Marie was evil precisely because she was a terrible character. Unlike Izanami no Okamo who is da best.

Thing about cashcow formulas is that you can use them only so many times in row before people get tired of it, you do actually need to switch up things once a while or people start to think you are becoming lazy.

Like I'm already seeing people thinking Persona series is really lazy when it comes to final bosses because they all follow the "something bad desired by collective humanity" and they keep saying sometimes even identical lines.

Either way, depends really how they do the world exploration thing. Like if if characters are adults, it could be some sort of globe trotting exploration thing, but then again characters are probably teens again because I guess Japanese older games have really large nostalgia for high school days or something

They actually really do have a nostalgia for high-school I recall.

Apparently high-school is their golden years.

Pokemon would like to have a word with you about cash cow franchises tiring people if they repeat themselves too much.

Yeah, and my point is that pokemon is still going strong after all those years of repeating itself. So is call of duty or annual sports game. Pokemon especially where sun and moon are the biggest selling games of the franchise iirc.

There's nothing obvious about cash cow losing sales because of being stale.

At least Sun and Moon tried new stuff.

Annual EA sports games constant success is one of the most depressing things happening to gaming.

Though Persona is more story heavy than those examples listed.

Pokemon is a really weird situation no other franchise aside from Madden can claim to be in and I'm not aware of any others as consistently unambitious as those two maintaining a comparable level of popularity for any where near as long as they have. That's the power of an IP, I guess.

I'm not much of a fan of Persona's direction from 4 on but they've definitely worked hard to make every game distinct even within the limited framework of Japanese high schoolers saving the world while being ordinary kids otherwise, and there's plenty more ideas they can plumb from it without it feeling too stale.

Sun and Moon isn't close to being the best selling lol. That title still clearly belongs to gen 1.

I've been playing Q2 on Hard and Super Kamoshidaman was just as much of a brick wall as I've heard. At least on the higher difficulties you don't have the resources to fight him the way the game "wants" you to (destroy both of his carrot weapons first) and even with Tarunda and Fang Splitter his attacks do so much damage that Ryuji needs to be using Line Guard every single turn. I managed to scrape past the finish line with everyone alive, but it took twenty turns and everyone was tapped out of SP or running on fumes by the end. I only bother destroying the Carrot Bomb weapon, and even then Super Kamoshidaman would've been impossible without casting Poisma as often as possible, and I've heard that even on Safety he can be really tough.

Anyway I'm enjoying the game a lot so far. The general UI and aesthetic is more eye-catching than the first Q's, the rebalancing and tweaking of mechanics is appreciated, and the music so far is absolutely aces (especially once you download the battle theme DLC). No dub still sucks, though I'm more understanding this time over Strange Journey Redux. Still, it does mean that the vast majority of players are going to miss out on amusing lines like the Heroine saying that she can see a field of flowers when she's low on HP, or miss character quirks like Ryuji being kinda rude and sarcastic whenever Akechi scores some kind of battle feat.

So Death Battle's newest fight publicly came out & it features Persona's first rep in the program, Mitsuru of all people.

Sure Yu and Chie have been in the smaller DBX and One-Minute Melee programs before but Mitsuru has the honor of being the first official rep for the big time.

In a theme of ice-wielding rapier rich girls she battles Weiss Schnee from RWBY.

90% of Death Battle outcomes come down to "which character has bigger numbers?", but Weiss vs Mitsuru is sort of an interesting case given that Mitsuru has more utility options (like healing and status effects) than Weiss does, though I'm pretty sure Weiss has bigger numbers just because she gets ridiculous anime fight scenes instead of relatively tame JRPG stuff.

Turns out that they decided Mitsuru's numbers were bigger, so she won without even having to spam Marin Karin, which Weiss has no real defense against. Go figure.
