Guess we'll see. So wait, back to my question, since we go to the first, and that the Warriors of Darkness had to kill themselves and either forge a new body or possess some poor saps, does that mean we have to do that too? I doubt it because Square would not want to lose out on revenue on Fantasia from the Bunnygirls.

our character is never going to die. There'll always be another way. Crystal Tower being shown off so much pretty much points that out.

But remember, the scion's soul got called and presumably inhabit new ones in the first, so it stands to reason something similar will happen to us. Also to go back a bit, if the five races are the ones who decided to call themselves spoken and everything else beastmen, how do the Au ra fit in? i know their implementation was awkward, but they are considered Spoken right?

In the meantime, avoid the official forums and Reddit since they are still burning in fire and salt from the fan fest.

Feeling the salt hard as well. Healers are getting absolutely shafted.

People are pissed that there's no new healer job for 2 expansions in a row, so someone wants to make the game a shitshow by having all healers quit.

Uh... I mean, good luck with that? Why would I care about another healer job to have to level from 1, anyway? Aside from the fact that they would presumably strip a few more features off of WHM to give to that class, resulting in our only spell showcase appearance being for Stone V and the announcement that they're merging Aero II and Aero III.

It's been fun.

Well, why would we need a new healer class? the ones we have right now are perfectly functional, there isn't a driving demand for a new healer is there?

EDIT: PRE FANFEST, of course.

Firstly, a new healer or any job for that matter wouldn't start at level 1. You can't expect people to keep going back to ARR zones and older expansion zones when they wanna play the new toy in the new zones.

Secondly, healers were in a bit of a mess when SB started and while they are mostly fixed now, Yoshida apparently said healers were going to get something in the next expansion. With no new healer job for 5.0, that's 2 expansions in a row where healers didn't get a new job. Many are worried that the job revamps for 5.0 will be underwhelming for healers again and they are jealous that tanks and DPS are getting new toys to play with.

Before the fanfest people were hyped at the leaked dancer and it had to be a healer, it had people speculating massively of unique mechanics such as a combo based healer (potentially learning from how Red Mage was done) or a debuff based healer (ala Songress in Final Fantasy X 2).

The Debuff based could use support moves like blind and Vulnerability up as a counterpart to Astro. Red mage style you could build up a meter with spells, shields and dps which would be utilized in spending that on different combos/dance moves.

Instead they just turned Dancer into just a ranged class... like there arn't already 7 of them in the game.

Also it would be a chance to add something with a different playstyle, As it is Astro is just a knockoff White Mage with different cooldowns.

If anything I see them removing spells from healer's toolkits, there is a lot of bloat and a lot should be simplified. However knowing them they wont actually replace anything they simplify.

That does sound quite cool. I agree that I'm not really sure we need yet another ranged DPS class.

^I mean, I use maybe eight buttons regularly in dungeons, counting my oh-shit buttons, but that doesn't mean the rest of my bar needs to be trimmed. It means they need to add reasons for me to use them. Simplifying a class is a great way to kill interest in it.

Yoshi also apparently said that he might make WHM easier to play since some people supposedly said the class was "too hard".

WHM is the easiest most boring of the 3 oddly although the bloat means you have to play them extremely differently with an entirely different set of bars depending on the xpac you are playing on... that is a huge issue.

SCH also has that issue but it is not that easy to play past 50.

If anything they need to rework the base toolkit of Astro and get rid of the clone of WHM's and add some actually ok cooldowns that dont get you yelled at for channeling and such.

Zenos was chosen because the main villain of Dissidia NT is Shinryu. Prove me wrong.

More healers just means more variety for healers to switch to when they get bored. No more and no less.

But that's still something that bored healers are interested in.

Healing is one of those nebulous things that's kind of hard to diversify without getting redundant. There's really only the one distinct dedicated healing FF job, so I understand to a degree why they're so slow to add more, and since they apparently think a White Mage with a 3rd of its kit sliced off and redistributed to the rest of the healers or deleted outright is too complex, I'm really not looking forward to the battle system update that's coming.

Why we need 9 DPS classes is beyond me, though when the two roles that hold up the queue are desperately lagging behind in terms of options.

The problem is there are plenty of ways to make the bad-colored bars go down, but only so many ways to keep the good-colored bars stay up. A DPS that does less damage but is balanced by utility or crowd control (does anyone in this game actually bother with crowd control? Serious question) is one thing, but a healing class that can't reliably keep people alive, whether through pure heals or mitigation, is a failed class. And at the same time, they can't make a healer who gives too many attractive buffs while also slinging WHM-tier heals, because then why would you play WHM when the heal potency is the only thing it offers?

It's been fun.

The devs said that after Heavensward, they noticed that adding more tank and healer classes didn't actually increase the number of tanks or healers. All it did was cause some people who were already playing tanks or healers to switch to the new classes. Which is why I said that the only reason to add more healers is to give people who play healers more variety to choose from.
