See that's the trouble. If all this is supposed to be secret, next level stuff, letting Tange (and I guess 'Nique) run around just screaming it at the top of her lungs kinda defeats the purpose. Granted she's an idiot so how much someone would believe her is open for debate but the reason real life conspiracy theories don't pan out and become urban legends is because the stuff the people promoting them talk about doesn't have a viable connection. Curious. That’s the first time he draws a black person amongst the looters, and I’m pretty sure that’s the first non-woke woman shown on the bad guys’ side in a long time. Unless he implies the D.C leaders are inherently “woke”, but I don’t see any earrings or “funny colored hair”. Those must be the “Olly Garks” Tange was talking about.

There have actually been a lot of people uneasy with Disney's Reedy Creek agreement, but as I recall it was dubbed a profitable move for Florida at the time. I get the impression the anger now is less over it being dissolved than the reason it was dissolved, but I don't want to get into the topic and cause the moderators to give us all the evil eye. I just found it odd that Tats would reference that as a place where looting was occuring thanks to "The Woke."

I don't think Disney's the intended target in this one - I think he's simply complaining about the different standards for blue-collar crime and political malfeasance. Small towns have a "Main Street", and before the construction of the interstates that's how you'd travel between cities: ride into town on [Origin City] Road, turn onto Main Street, leave via [Destination City] Road. So you have an emblem for everyday folks in opposition to Wall Street, the emblem of the rich.

But the timing is curious. I wonder whether he maybe lost his shirt in the crypto crash that's in the news this week, and he blames government fiscal policy.

Musk claims to have evidence that the percentage is higher than that. It wouldn't surprise me if he turned out to be right.

Bono is famous (or infamous) for his support of various social causes. Many people see him as a hypocrite for championing the poor and downtrodden while living a luxurious celebrity lifestyle.

The title of the strip is a quote from U2's song "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me" (from the Batman Forever soundtrack). I think the line right before it sums up Tats more, though: "You don't know what you're doing..."

& Yeah, I was to write the same - I mean how wrong is the Wokebie to think Monique sold out? She lived for a longer time in the very Devil's' mansion, she literaly has (had?) a devilfolk girlfriend, and has now a personal drone - like only high profile Devil stooges have. I literally don't know what Tats wants to achieve with this comic - he shows if anything, the Wokebie as sympathetic. As otherwise, it just contradicts the narraive Tats set-up for years now. Or is it right to ally with the elities/corporation/rich & powerful but if it's Tats or people he agrees with (now)? But that's just a show of and admission to blatant hypocrisy and double standards.

This strip isn't really offesive, but in context it is one of the stupidest, seeing how self-undermining it is for Tats and the whole narrative he spins.

As I've said on multiple occasions, I view Sinfest as Tats' emotional diary. Sinfest's hot buttons are Tats' hot buttons.

I'm pretty much convinced that Monique and Abby are based on real women, and that some of the events of the comic reflect what happens in their lives. (Tats even had Fuchsia draw a sketch of "Monique"!) At some point — probably in 2017, at the time of Satan's big party — they came out as a couple, moved in together, and pledged commitment to each other.

But ever since Abby and Monique got separated during a protest in 2020, Tats has pretty much kept the two characters apart. I suspect that the real-world women broke up, and Monique becoming disillusioned and moving out of the Mansion is Tats way of incorporating the breakup into the plotline.

Note the title of the current arc. Definitions of tribulation include "distress or suffering resulting from oppression or persecution" and "a trying experience."
