I wonder what Tats's planning board looks like when he's making a string of comics like this.

We have Sam being sad, Liberty wandering, Sam being sad (with lyrics!), Liberty wandering with lyrics (twice, because it was so good the first 30 times he did it!) and Sam drinking whilst being sad.

He should be able to recognise a pattern here, even Tats!

Yup, I'm guesing more "Dom/Sub/White Knight Saviour" stuff from Tats is coming up fast.

It's not exactly going to be a "Prophecy: - You win the internet" moment when it happens - because almost all of Tat's stuff seems to be some form of "Female sex drone oppressed, Tats saves them/oppresses them some more"; and lets face it, Tat's writing skills are formulaic at best

The guy needs to start thinking of his female drones as people, not cartoon whores for him to get off on oppressing, then white knighting, to showcase his "virtue"

I'm prettty sure a lot of us are Rooting for the Empire because the "villains" are allowed to have personalities - the drones just exist for Tats to get his repressed Sub/Dom/White Knight sex rocks off about.

Please start treating your female characters as people Tats instead of them being your private fetishes

Given the Sisterhood and Fembots, the villains are also the closest thing to heroes this comic has left.

Can I point out how lazy his Twitter post is? It is a literal copy of the comic with a flip transform applied. That's bad enough, but he didn't even pay attention to the SWERF sign he put up. Look at the detail on the wall. He put the sign on a pop-out. It shows that he had the presence of mind to put it at the center of his image but not enough attention to detail to put it flat on a wall. 2007 Tats would NEVER have accepted that shit.

In the "Handmaid's tale" TV show (and novel) Gilead is the name of the dictatorial theocracy that replaced the United States in the dystopian future. Comparing the current political left to Gilead is just too extreme. It reminds me of the alt-right douches who compare every opposition to the Thought police and Big Brother from 1984... (Or the leftist idiots who call everyone a Nazi).

Exactly. You can't even take Tat's points seriously because he goes to the utmost extreme picture he can paint. And the frustrating thing is that you can't really discuss it with them. You have to let them eventually realize that they were sold a faulty bill of goods. Kind of like this example:

The problem is that Tat has been wrong for years.

My impressions from Tats' artistic choices:

• He's definitely more of a leg man than a boob man.

Weird detail: Liberty gained "sexy lips" after she was brainwashed. because of course sexy equals brainwashed and slave of the evil patriarchy and the quckin' pimp.

Oh, and of quckin' course the "choice" sign is clearly visible as Liberty is getting captured...

Oh GOODIE. I smell ANOTHER jailbreak story line on top of the ones for Li'l E and Li'l Cerebus that Tat can't bother with now. I still enjoy the Pettyfests immensely, but even THEY are beginning to say that they feel like they are repeating themselves.

Everything that has been said about the drone managing to overpower Liberty, but losing to zombie hookers, children, knitting grandmas and probably harsh sunlight is true, but I'm still kind of excited for this storyline.

Tats is leaving his months long safe space of regurgitating the same material and is trying to make something new happen. In a perfect world this would lead to an interesting story with engaging characters, but given Tats track record so far he is setting himself up for another epic, painful and ironic failure that's at least funny and interesting to watch.

The first signs of the latter are already showing. The "crown of liberty" getting sucked into the hat drone by tractor beam before it landing on her head. (Never mind the "why" or the impracticality of that, Tats needs his SYMBOLISM!) The sheer ridiculousness of random women on the (completely empty!) street getting mind controlled by the Patriarchy. But not just any mind control! Just Liberty staring into space with blank eyes or swirls in her eyes just isn't simple and effective enough for a Grand Master SWERF and male ally like Tats! Perhaps the audience assumed that the drone SHAPED LIKE A GOD DAMN SEVENTIES STYLE PIMP HAT wasn't going to instantly ship her off into sexual slavery, so how does a genius author like Tatsuya Ishida solve this conundrum?

Mind controlled Liberty gets instant "prostitute makeup" (Tats always draws prostitutes looking like this) applied, because why not? All prostitutes are mind controlled victims by the Patriarchy in Tats's mind! Tats clearly means this as a shocking reveal, but it just implies that Tats believes that all women who wear makeup are whores. Never mind the ridiculousness of that drone apparently applying it all perfectly in the time it takes Liberty to fall to her knees, Tats needs his SYMBOLISM!

I just know this is going to be a beautiful train wreck. It already is and Tats hasn't even really started yet!

Given what repetitive material they have to work with I can forgive them for it!
