Now how could he possibly tell that?

He had run into her a few years ago. She jokingly said she had intended to summon Jesus, but since she was a witch she knew he wouldn't want that to happen ...

[up] Strange that Tats can't keep a story straight to save his life, but he can confuse the audience with suddenly referencing minor things that happened over 4 years ago.

I think he can keep a story straight — he's had most of this plotted out for years based on the clues he's been dropping. What he can't do is stick to a plot line without suddenly going off on a tangent about whatever The Most Important Cause In The Universe is this week, and complicating things with Johnbies, Zombies, gender prison camps, movie remakes, celebrations of lesbian love, gender pills, Orange Man Bad, or whatever.

I'm still trying to figure out why Amber is in charge of HellTV, what happened to the Ascending Pimp, what (if anything) will happen to Nameless Orphan Hooker, and how the Invincible Assassinbots will use the Headless Pimptron to do some damned thing or another at the end of the year.

The Gab thing is really hairy. There might be something I'm misunderstanding because I don't know the platform well. He does actually seem to have a Gab account, posts on Gab, and references his Spinster account in the username. I could see maybe a post redirecting all the viewers of his Gab page to Spinster after he found out his mistake, but the last post he made on the Gab is a day ago. He's regularly using his Gab and Spinster, probably as forms of recruitment. He's probably just not feeding the Gab account as much.

Sigh,

An advertising social thread he doesn't want most peeps to find out about I guess, which is why he didn't link it on his own forums

Maybe he is courting the alt-right dollars. Thanks for that further info Tulip Kitten. My faith in Tats as a human being is now lowered even further

At least Sunday we'll probably see Nana engaging with Lilith

My theory is that Seymour is male and therefore needs Nana to succeed in communicating with Lilith

Either we get filler on Saturday or not, but the next plot thingie on the conveyor belt is Lilith interacting with Nana and Seymour somehow

There's been so much "almost" filler this week and the color Sundays are the only pages where Tats can do some real plot progression in non-bite sized artistic chunks

This is a decent story but it's very mechanical in it's construction

Y'know, we know Nana has a functional flying broomstick, so all this walking nonsense really is just to make sure she runs into people.

Tats is too darned stubborn to give up the format of six "daily" strips and one "Sunday" color page per week. But he also decided, for reasons known only to himself, to ban dialogue in the Sunday pages. As a result, what he can do and when he can do it are severely hobbled. It's really rather stupid.

New strip: https://www.sinfest.net/view.php?date=2019-08-31

Well, that was an unexpected complication.

Tats seems to like cars and trucks that travel with all four wheels above the road surface. I wonder if there's a Confederate Battle Flag painted on the roof?

He's meandering away from the actual story he started out with.

Still no zombies though!

Forcing yourself out of your comfort zone, like making a dialogue-less comic for a day, is a good way to practice creativity and non-verbal storytelling if done right. The first half of Wall-E is a great example of this done well.

I don't think doing a silent strip every Sunday is necessarily a bad idea, but it helps to keep them independent of the weekly comics to keep the flow of storytelling going, or to use them to accentuate the story rather than progress it.

And that's pretty much what Tats did in the beginning of Sinfest. I think Tats just lost the balance of things at some point.

Optimism is a duty.

But many of the color pages did tie into the ongoing storylines — including my favorite. And Tats used dialogue for more than ten years. He didn't consistently eliminate dialogue until after the Sisterhood comics started.

[up] Yeah. Who broke it? Lilith's ghost? But she's insubstantial and apparently can't affect material objects. (Unless Tats is being inconsistent again ...)

And why make a point of showing us MMXIX's helmet? Wait — two helmets?

Lily has a picture of Ezekial and Ariel in his home?

You'd think he might have asked earlier why D-Man's portrait is present too. For someone who spent a good chunk of his early re-imagining trying to figure out who he was in his past life, Lily seems to have skipped over some fairly big clues.

So I guessing Nana is here to collect Lilith's spirit or something. Why is the question I'd ask though.

Kinda wish Seymour was sticking around for this. He at least appeared ready to be entertaining.

I suspect Hekate wants Lilith's spirit "put to rest" for the same reason that a mob boss might want a stool pigeon "put to rest" — there's always the chance of information being revealed that certain parties don't want revealed.

"What? The woman who had to raise a child on her own doesn't like father that abandoned them? SURELY YOU JEST."

Did you REALLY need to spend the time to draw that, Tats?

Every comic is so painfully forced and so ploddingly slow. Every statement is so pandering and devoid of actual thought and depth. You are a hack.

As someone pointed out earlier: Nana can FLY. She's just walking so Tat can kill time and draw it out. Might as well get those Patreon dollars for as little work as possible.

I just came to talk about how horrible Sinfest is.

[up] And it was never quite clear to me exactly what Hekate expected Nana to do.

For that matter, have Nana or Hekate ever in the history of the Sinfest universe challenged Satan in a head-on match?

(Godzilla vs. Cthulhu — who would win?)

Also ... do we know that Satan abandoned Lilith? It looks equally plausible to me that Lilith walked out on him and then ran into problems when she was on her own.
