There seems to be absolutely no layer between the customers and the leadership of the Patriarchy.

The security cameras outside of the Mansion don't work if the Devil isn't looking. Neither does the thought detector. The drones don't seem to record anything unless the Devil or Milton are watching themselves. Number Two of the organization needs to poke souls into the hell pits herself. There is one singular Pimp running the Red Light district, collecting prostitutes and shooting all of the porn in the world.

It makes Patriarchy Inc. look like a horribly inefficient, small family business!

That may be true, but on the other hand, artists LOVE depicting the devil personally tormenting souls in hell.

In most depictions of heaven and hell, it is the devil who is always hands on with the customers, and God is the one who delegates, to the point of never even showing up in the office at all.

Hell really IS a family business. Heaven? Heaven is the pinnacle of corporate bureaucracy, where even upper management is never sure where the big boss is or what he thinks.

Tormenting souls is probably the pleasure bit, Devil Corp is the business. It's not so surprising the Devil would be hands on in that aspect. It's like a fishing magnate running a boat in his spare time because he likes sailing.

Have to wonder how Abbey will handle this. Will she go to Monique for advice on what to do?

I guess she'll go running to Mouthique, and she'll storm all entitled-like up to the Mansion and complain about forcing poor little Absinthe to do such a horrifying job. Satan pointing out that, as a Devil, that's what she is SUPPOSED to do is entirely optional. Him firing her... out of a cannon, possibly... is not.

You know Satan could easily solve Abby's compunctions by simply bomfing her the same way he did to undevilified Blue and Fyoosh all those years back, or the sparkles-infected Blue during the "Criminy digs his way to Hell looking for Fuchsia" arc.

Can you double Bomf someone? I don't think that's ever been tried.
