Wind Waker is my personal favorite, though mostly due to the art style and the MASSIVE amount of sidequests.

Twilight Princess is a pretty close second, though.

Oooo I loved this game! I dunno how I would compare it to the other 3D ones, though, but it's definitely a great game. In my mind, it's the last great Zelda game (not a fan of the DS ones at all).

^Hmm, haven't played in awhile so I can't really help. Sorry!

If this thread hasn't answered your question, have you checked Gamefaqs? You also could always post the question there. They have a special section dedicated to it.

I'm sorry, Professor Metallica, I haven't had a chance to sit down with the game and remember where to go from that point. If I'm not mistaken, you need to put one of those little horned statues with a hole in the middle on a switch somewhere.

I didn't use a guide for Twilight Princess so I fee your pain. I got stuck a lot, but I never got stuck in the Temple Of Time. That place seemed pretty straight forward, after I got over the swarm of trash can sized spiders. You aren't running away from them are you? You need to go into that area, I think it has an elevator and an item.

TP is way too easy for a guide, so I didn't use one, with one exception. There was an interface-based See The Sailboat in the penultimate boss battle where I was somehow supposed to guess that Midna's hair-hand-thing could grab Ganon by the horns using the same minigame controls as with the goat and Goron guard. Even reading a guide I couldn't tell exactly what I was supposed to do, I had to watch a video of the fight very carefully to tell what on earth had to be done.

Eric,

Okay, yeah, in order to get into the rest of the temple, you need to find the little horned statue and put it on the pressure switch. This will raise a section of floor so you can climb a staircase.

[up]Exactly.

Twilight Princess was a pretty cool game, mostly because I consider all the 3D Zelda's the best of the series.

Majora's Mask and The Wind Waker are higher up for me, though.

I can't seem to find that switch. Is it in the same room? EDIT: and I don't have 'Net at home, and all the game-related sites at school are blocked. (i.e. Gamefaqs, IGN, Super Mario Wiki, etc.)

Eric DVH, I figured that one out without the guide a lot easier than I had with the The Sky Town and Icy Ruins.(,and the fishing, and the bugs and Hyrule Castle and...) basically I just tried everything until something worked and didn't even pay attention to Midna. But after fighting the boss again, out of curiosity, she does clearly tell you a pretty sensible way to "stop him" and the second method comes after the sensible plan wasn't working anymore "so lets try something stupid". You did have a chance to get used to familiar controls before leaving the first town too.

Her hint was way too obtuse in my opinion, and the onscreen button prompt was far too brief, I never would've gotten that in in a billion years (I swear I tried EVERYTHING else.) The one other part of the game that WOULD have stumped me was admittedly the other occasion that was required, the goron guard. Fortunately, after I'd reduced myself to a broken shell of a man futilely trying to get past him and skulked away from the ladder, Midna IMMEDIATELY put me on the right track. They should've made it more obvious to bullheaded players that You Shall Not Pass.

The only dungeon that REALLY gave me trouble (though there were a few bits in all of them) was (of course) the water dungeon, but I mostly did allright once sat still I to think about it a bit and assembled a rough mental map of what I was trying to do. Really, about on par with OoT & MM's.

It took me a LONG time to get through the Water Temple/"Dungeon". Especially unrewarding considering what happened right after.

You weren't supposed to guess that Midna's hair power could stop Ganon, mostly due to the fact that she tells you to use it.

He said her hints weren't obvious enough to him. I got it, but I'm not everybody.

I actually found Twilight Princess Water dungeon kind of hard, but I really enjoyed it. Much better than the Majora's Mask water dungeon, which is otherwise my favorite game in the series. For that, all Water areas in Zelda haven't seemed so bad after Majora's Mask, but I haven't played every Zelda game yet.

She's a snarky little bitch who I think was intended to be a Tsun Dere, except that they sort of forgot the "dere" part and she was annoying and unsympathic throughout the game, at least in my opinion.

Huh? Her snarky bitchiness eases down alot in the second half of the game, and by the end, the "dere" part is very visible in her interactions with Link and Zelda. So I can't really see where you're coming from.

Midna was a tsundere? Psh.

According to Word of God, yes.

Midna was certainly the second best character in the entire series. The BEST character is Linebeck, hands down.

I agree with Midna being second best, but (though I haven't played PH, I've seen videos on Youtube), I disagree with Linebeck being the best. He's awesome, yes, but he loses originality points by bearing alot of similarity with a certain other pirate captain... So he's probably third best or something for me.

IMO, the best non Link/Zelda/Ganon character in the whole Zelda series is the King of Hyrule from "Wind Waker".

Water dungeons in Zelda were never that hard to begin with...rather one of them happened to be rather dangerous. The one in Ocarina of Time that is.

I don't know how or why, I think I must have missed something or did something wrong, but while tinkering with the water levels and moving stuff around, I got cocky and actually got killed(dying in a Zelda game is...rare). The game asked me to save, so I clicked yes...that was my undoing. I think in the area I died, I manipulated something, but it took our a ledge that lets me me go through a door in the beginning room...hence I literally made the game unbeatable for me.

MAYBE there was a way around it...but I couldn't figure it out.

But asides from that, it wasn't really that hard, I just got too cocky during an ambush since dying was so hard, and when I did finally die, it just had to be in that temple...

tbh, I rather it be as hard as people say it is...and not have the "cannot beat the game" conditions that it had...

One beef I had with Twilight Princess is that the bosses are kinda...easy.

Kinda really easy. Fun, absolutely. Just not very challenging. I'd say the bosses are probably the easiest part of each dungeon.

Yeah, admittedly, the game had something of a Mario-style Boss Dissonance going on, especially the battles with Fyrus and Argorok. They were all still fun, though, so I didn't really mind it all that much.

I can't believe you remember their names....but isn't easy boss the problem with pretty much all 3D Zelda games? I mean, some of them were "cool" I have to admit...like the first time I had to fight that armored knight miniboss, and that giant cnidocyte.

Oh, and Zant...easy as he maybe, he was definately....entertaining. The way he acts pre-boss fight, as well as when he comes to melee you in the last part of the fight.

For me, he's definately an Ensemble Dark Horse.
