Yeah, another one of those "X totally never happens (except for all these times it actually does)" tropes. I agree with TRS: it needs a rework to be more focused on a character's appearance remaining improbably immaculate.

Thanks for the responses! I've added the trope to TRS queue.
(I've made a minor change in the wick check. There was an ZCE "subverted" example. It was in the folder with aversions, but I decided to move it to "other". Not that it affected much anyway.)

So, Beauty Is Never Tarnished is a trope about portrayals of women favouring beauty over realism. A female character's looks remain impeccable no matter what she's been through. While this tendency in fiction is real, is it common enough for the aversions to be significant?
I went ahead and did a wick check and it turns out almost half of the examples (24/53) are aversions
Moreover, out of the remaining 29 only 3 describe the difference in the the way men and women are portrayed. Most just mention a female character and that her appearance is not affected by whatever action she's been in. And 5 wicks are about male characters.
With all that I'm leaning towards bringing it to TRS, but I wanted to ask here first. Does this trope need changes? Or maybe it is more significant when it's averted?
